Angela Hill post-fight photo, Floyd Mayweather vs. John Gotti III & Ronda Rousey comeback?
As a long-time combat sports enthusiast with decades of following these thrilling events under my belt, I must say that this past weekend was a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
In this fresh daily feature, I’ll dissect the latest happenings across the combat sports arena and share my insights with you. Drop by each morning to catch the day’s top or offbeat stories, along with my thoughts on them.
Angela Hill shows off post-fight face
71 significant strikes to the head I guess #nofilter #ufcvegas96

At UFC Vegas 96 on Saturday, Angela Hill displayed an immaculate visage following her defeat against Tabatha Ricci. She commented, “I took 71 impactful blows to my head, it seems.”
In a remarkable display, Hill and Ricci engaged in an intense brawl that left spectators divided as to who emerged victorious. However, it is undeniable that Hill bore the brunt of the physical toll this encounter took.
Floyd Mayweather dominates John Gotti III in exhibition
— Combat (@combat2747) August 25, 2024
On the bustling weekend, I had the privilege of witnessing a captivating re-encounter between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III in an exhibition bout. And let me tell you, it was absolutely no surprise that the ring mastered by Mayweather once more.
As a gamer, I can’t help but question the hype surrounding these exhibition matches. Floyd Mayweather clearly doesn’t require the financial boost, and let’s face it, they’re far from being entertaining spectacles. It’s all a bit of a joke, really – even going so far as to dismiss a referee during a fight! It feels more like a circus than a boxing ring.
Ronda Rousey gives update on rumored comeback
Ronda Rousey has clarified recent speculations about her potential return to UFC combat. “Every few years, that same rumor circulates,” she said in an interview on the Insight podcast. “It’s flattering to feel missed, I suppose. But it won’t be happening. My neurological health no longer supports competing at the top level. Regrettably, I can’t.” This means that although there have been rumors suggesting her return to UFC, Rousey has confirmed she is not in a physical condition to compete at the highest level due to accumulated neurological injuries over time. These injuries do not heal or improve.
I abandoned any interest in Rousey long ago. Her departure from the UFC without addressing the media or admitting fault after her losses was inexcusable. At this moment, I have no wish to witness her return, and if her claims about her brain are accurate, it’s best for her health that she stays away.
