Andrew Scott’s “gripping” historical thriller hailed as a “must-see movie”

Andrew Scott stars in Pressure, a tense thriller based on a true story. He plays James Stagg, a Scottish weather expert who had the incredibly important job of predicting the weather for D-Day. His forecast was critical to the Allied invasion of France.

The actor known for Fleabag portrays Stagg, the head weather forecaster for Britain. After a practice run for D-Day goes badly, Stagg warns that bad weather could jeopardize the whole mission.

Constantly battling unpredictable weather, meteorologist James Stagg faces opposition from within the Allied command itself. With time running out and the threat of Germany discovering the invasion plans, the ultimate decision falls to Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower, portrayed by Brendan Fraser, known for his role in The Mummy.

The trailer for Pressure hints at a tense confrontation between Stagg and Eisenhower, with Eisenhower believing he alone will determine the conflict’s outcome.

Eisenhower tells Stagg, with the outcome of the war and countless lives at stake, that even a detailed weather forecast is ultimately just an informed estimate, following the meteorologist’s insistence on its inherent uncertainty.
