Andrew Scott, known for his role in All of Us Strangers, will lead the cast of Justine Triet’s new psychological thriller, Fonda. This film will be Triet’s first time directing in English and will also feature Mia Goth, of Frankenstein, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, who starred in Candyman.
So, Deadline just dropped some news about the cast for this new project! Apparently, Frank Dillane, who I recognized from Urchin, is going to be in it. And get this – Allison Janney, who was amazing in I, Tonya, is supposedly being considered for a big part. Fingers crossed she signs on!
According to the report, Mia Goth, known for her role in the X trilogy, will star in the upcoming film Fonda. Director Justine Triet was so impressed with Goth’s performance in a smaller role that she offered her the lead.
What to Read Next
Fonda will see Triet reunite with Anatomy of a Fall producers Marie-Ange Luciani and David Thion.

This psychological thriller unfolds in a confined, almost perfect setting, and explores the fragile nature of sanity as a character grapples with grief and becomes consumed by obsession.
More details about the actors and filming schedule are still coming, but production is expected to start this spring.
Mk2 Films will be in charge of selling the film, and according to their managing director, Fionnuala Jamison, it’s expected to be a significant cinematic event. She says the film explores the complexities of the human mind, delivering a smart and emotionally powerful thriller with strong potential for awards and commercial success.
We’re excited to start working with the team behind Anatomy of a Fall and are pleased to have Studiocanal as a partner.

Anna Marsh, CEO of Studiocanal and CCO of Canal+, added that Justine Triet is a uniquely talented filmmaker, and the cast of Fonda is outstanding. They’re excited to share the film with audiences in the territories where it will be released.
We were immediately captivated by the script and eager to join Justine Triet’s powerful and memorable return to filmmaking.
Fonda will be director Justine Triet’s next film following her 2023 success, Anatomy of a Fall, which won the Palme d’Or and an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
That same year, Andrew Scott received two major acting awards for his role as Adam in All of Us Strangers: Best Actor from the National Society of Film Critics and Actor of the Year from the London Film Critics’ Circle.
His performance earned him nominations from several prestigious awards organizations, including the Golden Globes, the Gotham Awards, the British Independent Film Awards, the Independent Spirit Awards, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
