Andrew Scott confirmed for new “powerful” UK-set Netflix series with stacked cast

I’m thrilled to share that I, Andrew Scott, am part of the impressive ensemble in the upcoming UK-based series titled “Too Much” on Netflix. This promising show looks set to pack a punch!

Originating from and penned by Lena Dunham of “Girls”, this romantic comedy-drama revolves around Megan Stalter’s character, Jessica – a workaholic who finds herself in the UK after an emotionally shattering breakup. Here, she unexpectedly forms a bond with musician Felix, played by Will Sharpe.

Prior to its Netflix debut on July 10th, the series comprising ten episodes has revealed an impressive lineup. Among them is Scott, who will make a brief appearance alongside Kit Harington, Jessica Alba, Rita Ora, and Jennifer Saunders (as reported by Tudum).

The secondary actors are quite impressive as well, with Stalter and Sharpe joined by talented performers such as Stephen Fry, Richard E Grant, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Emily Ratajkowski, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Daisy Bevan.

Dunham expressed her astonishment, saying, “I find it hard to believe this occurred.” Co-creator of the series with her husband Luis Felber, she continued, “There were numerous actors I admire, and I thought, ‘Regardless if the character appears in just one or several episodes, I want to provide them something substantial.’

This production holds a special place in my heart, as it was developed hand-in-hand with my husband Luis. It features actors I deeply admire, such as Meg and Will, along with a group of friends. Once more, I’m collaborating with Working Title, the team behind the romantic comedies that have greatly influenced me.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can say that the creator of our show, Lena Dunham, is a huge fan of romantic comedies – a fact that significantly influenced our series. She’s taken the classic romcom formula and given it a bit of an edge, making it more gritty and real.

The actor commented, “It skillfully captures the essence of romantic comedies, yet it retains a grittier side.” This blend gives more impact to its sweet elements as there’s a sense of authenticity in its portrayal.

One of my initial discussions with Lena revolved around how the characters carry burdens from their past lives and past relationships. Essentially, I asked her if they could discard those burdens to experience freedom in this new relationship and fully dedicate themselves to it.

Too Much is released on Netflix on 10 July.

Hey gamers, grab a piece of the action! The first physical magazine from Digital Spy is out now – it’s called “British Comedy Legends” and you can pick it up at your local newsagent or get it online for only £3.99. Don’t miss this hilarious read!
