Andrew Lincoln, known for his roles in popular shows like The Walking Dead and the film Love Actually, is having one of his earlier projects highlighted by the BBC. Surprisingly, it’s not one of those recent hits, but a drama series from the 1990s that’s receiving the special attention.
The popular TV show This Life, created by Amy Jenkins, originally aired in 1996 and 1997 for two seasons. A special reunion episode followed in 2007. The series followed the lives of a group of young lawyers in their twenties.
Even though a new season isn’t planned, fans can revisit the show soon! The BBC is celebrating the series’ 30th anniversary by re-airing every episode.

Starting March 18th – exactly 30 years after it first aired – Daniela Nardini, the actress who played Anna Forbes, will introduce a repeat showing of the first season on BBC Four at 10pm.
This highly acclaimed series, celebrated for reflecting a generation and significantly impacting British TV, will be available to stream completely on BBC iPlayer the same day it airs.

According to the BBC, even thirty years later, the show’s characters, lively spirit, and straightforward approach are still strongly remembered as part of 1990s culture. They called it a series that truly defined the decade.
Besides Nardini and Lincoln – who played Edgar “Egg” Cooke – the show featured a strong ensemble cast with Jack Davenport, Amita Dhiri, Jason Hughes, and Luisa Bradshaw-White.
I’m a huge fan of This Life, and it’s amazing to see so many other people feel the same way! It consistently gets incredible reviews – right now, it’s at an 8.5/10 on IMDb based on over 2,800 ratings. One reviewer actually called it ‘cerebral and engaging,’ which I totally agree with – it really makes you think, but it’s also totally captivating.

One viewer declared this show a smarter, more sophisticated version of Friends, offering a realistic look at life in 1990s London through the experiences of young professionals and everyday people.
I saw another fan nail it – they said this show is basically perfect for capturing that awkward time when you’re trying to grow up, switching from just having fun to actually being responsible. It really hits home if you’ve ever struggled with that change, which, let’s be real, most of us have!
This Life will stream on BBC iPlayer from 18 March.
