Andrew Lincoln and Eve Myles’ Scotland-set thriller for ITV gets first look ahead of autumn release

ITV shares initial photos of Andrew Lincoln and Eve Myles from their upcoming chilling Scottish drama titled “Coldwater”.

In the imagined Scottish hamlet of Coldwater, the series The Walking Dead features Lincoln portraying a middle-aged fellow named John, who harbors a simmering anger beneath the surface while fulfilling his role as a stay-at-home parent.

According to the summary, when John’s inaction during a fight at a playground triggers an identity crisis for him, he decides to relocate his family to the peaceful countryside of Coldwater, seeking as much distance from London as they can manage.

Following John’s arrival in Scotland, he develops a friendship with his neighbor, Tommy (Ewen Bremner), and his spouse, the local clergy member Rebecca (Myles).

Over time, as John’s bond with mysterious Tommy deepens, Fiona (Indira Varma), John’s wife, grows wary and suspects Tommy more and more.

As John’s suppressed anger explodes in a catastrophic turn of events, he unexpectedly owes a favor to his recent acquaintance, Tommy, without knowing that this very person has terrifying hidden truths.

It’s not until a string of strange events transpire that John starts questioning the true identity of Tommy.

This synopsis hints at a tale about an ordinary man, in a typical marriage, who unexpectedly lands in a highly unusual predicament. It is suggested that the character named John may become ensnared by someone extremely perilous.

Initially, photographs show Lincoln and the actor Varma (from “Game of Thrones”) strolling along a tight alleyway accompanied by their two kids. Meanwhile, another image includes the actress Myles from “Broadchurch,” who is depicted standing behind a podium.

This coming autumn, a six-episode series penned, conceptualized, and overseen by David Ireland will be unveiled on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and the STV Player.

In the upcoming series, Lee Haven Jones from “Doctor Who” will take charge of directing the initial three episodes, whereas Andrew Cumming, known for his work on “Shetland”, will be in control for the latter part of the series.

Coldwater will air on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV player this autumn.
