Andrew Garfield shares awkward We Live in Time sex scene with Florence Pugh
As a long-time fan of captivating performances and heartfelt storytelling, I must say that Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh’s antics during the filming of We Live in Time have only piqued my curiosity even further! Their shared experience of pushing boundaries on set, inadvertently elongating a sex scene, speaks volumes about their comfort level with each other and their commitment to immersing themselves fully into their characters. I can’t help but chuckle at the thought of the director missing the cue to call “cut” due to Garfield and Pugh’s intense passion on screen, with the camera operator and boom operator left in the awkward position of being silent witnesses. It’s these behind-the-scenes stories that make the upcoming release all the more intriguing! I can hardly wait to see how their chemistry translates onto the big screen when We Live in Time hits theaters on October 11, and I’ll be there with bated breath for the UK premiere on January 1, 2025. Here’s hoping they’ve got a good take for the blooper reel!
In simpler terms, during the filming of their upcoming movie “We Live in Time“, Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh have shared that an unintended advancement occurred between them during a sex scene, which went beyond the intended boundaries.
In an upcoming romantic movie blending humor and drama, the two leading actors portray Tobias and Almut. Their lives take an unexpected turn after a fateful meeting leaves them inextricably connected.
In a recent chat with Josh Horowitz (through Variety), Garfield shared an intriguing detail about the movie – there’s a scene so intensely romantic that, during shooting, neither him nor Pugh noticed the director yelling “cut” due to their immersion in the moment.
“We do the first take of this very intimate, passionate sex scene,” he recalled.
Additionally, it’s a private setting, restricted to just myself, Florence, and our talented Director of Photography, Stewart, making up our intimate crew.
The director is in an adjacent room. As a result, the scene becomes intense, and we find ourselves going beyond our intended limits, since we failed to notice the command to stop filming, and it felt secure in that moment.
Speaking about Spider-Man, the actor went on to say: “We simply decided to move forward, letting things develop naturally, and keeping on with our work.
After some time, Garfield mentioned that he and Pugh seemed to be mentally conveying to one another, “It certainly seems we are filming an extended shot here.
He added, to laughter from the crowd: “I look up, and in the corner is Stewart and our boom operator. Stewart has the camera by his side and he’s turned into the wall.”
We Live in Time is released in US cinemas on October 11 and in UK cinemas on January 1, 2025.
