Andi Dorfman Opens Up: Postpartum Struggles Are Tougher Than Pregnancy!

Former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman has gone on the record about life after having a baby.

In a recent Instagram Story post on Saturday, Dorfman, aged 38, candidly admitted that the experience of postpartum has been more challenging for her compared to pregnancy itself.

‘Truly, like, from a physical standpoint, it’s obviously been very hard for me to lose weight.’

Andi elaborated that the emotional aspect of her postpartum phase has been especially challenging for her to manage.

‘Like, your hormones are just out of whack,’ she said. “Nobody prepares you for postpartum. 

In December 2024, Andi welcomed her daughter Harper, who is shared with her spouse, Blaine Hart.

While there’s an abundance of information about pregnancy, the topic of postpartum is often overlooked. To make matters more challenging, you’re dealing with this new phase while feeling exhausted as you focus on caring for your newborn.

She continued: ‘Its a thing. I feel, like, every woman battles something postpartum.

‘Regardless if it’s due to factors outside or within, hormones or a combination, having a baby involves a significant challenge, especially postpartum. I’ll make sure to focus on that aspect.’

Apart from that, Andi mentioned that she’s fortunate because she can rely on her partner, Blaine, during challenging times.

In her Instagram Story Q&A, she stated that during the initial months following Harper’s birth, the term that best describes their marriage transformation is ‘partnership’.

‘Sometimes you just feel like teammates tagging each other in and out to get it all done.’

She suggested that you should really put in some extra effort to find quality time for yourselves, ensuring it’s not just focused on the baby, she emphasized.

‘But in doing so, you really do build this cool partnership with someone.’

Andi also dished on whether she and Blaine plan to have more children.

During her Q&A session on Saturday, the reality TV star acknowledged that while they had consistently expressed a desire for three, they would be tackling this goal one step at a time.

Let’s carve out some time towards the end of this year or in early 2026 for a quiet getaway with only Harper. This will give us both a chance to relax and recharge before we consider starting something new.

Andi and Blaine married in 2023. Their love story has a cute twist.

In 2023, Andi shared with People that the story was quite unusual. They first crossed paths at a college party.

15 years after our initial encounter, I hadn’t heard a peep from Blaine since he was playing baseball at Furman University, where we happened to meet. One of my friends was his teammate. Fast forward to Italy, and that’s when we reconnected.

She went on to say: ‘Blaine initiated a message conversation with me, asking if we could have a drink together. However, since I am currently in Italy, I declined.’

He said, “Of course, I get it. I saw your Instagram post about being here, and I’d love to treat you to some drinks.

That Italian encounter led to true love for the couple. 

She declared, “That was the decision,” and when it came to arranging their wedding, without a doubt, Italy was their initial preference.

‘It’s a very special place for us,’ Andi added.

In the year 2014, Andi joined the Bachelor franchise by vying for Juan Pablo Galavis’ affection on season 18 of The Bachelor.

Later on, she starred as ‘The Bachelorette’, during which she got engaged to Josh Murray. However, their relationship didn’t last long post the show’s finale, ending a few months afterwards.
