Ana Navarro mocks Newt Gingrich over response to ad about women lying to their husbands

As a lifestyle expert with extensive personal and professional experiences under my belt, I find myself deeply disturbed by the remarks made by Newt Gingrich and Jesse Watters regarding the Vote Common Good commercial. The notion that wives should hide their votes from their husbands or vice versa is not only antiquated but also disrespectful to the millions of women who fought for the right to vote, a fight that has been ongoing for over a century.

As a committed supporter, I found myself in agreement with Ana Navarro when she took Newt Gingrich to task following his criticism of an advertisement advocating for women to secretly cast their votes in the forthcoming U.S. presidential election without informing their partners.

An advertisement crafted by Vote Common Good, a non-profit group focused on encouraging religious voters, subtly proposes that spouses of Donald Trump’s supporters might privately cast their ballots for Kamala Harris.

81-year-old Gingrich criticized the ad by stating: “How can you govern a nation when you’re promoting that spouses should deceive each other? Isn’t this a fundamentally immoral, rotten, sick system that the Democrats have fostered?” Meanwhile, Fox News host Jesse Watters compared his wife lying about her vote to having an affair.

After observing videos of both men on The View’s Friday episode, Navarro, aged 52, chose to express her thoughts and informed the group, “It’s nearly amusing, if it weren’t so grave, it would be amusing – to hear individuals like Newt Gingrich advocating for spouses deceiving each other… he was unfaithful to both his first and second wives.

The political commentator continued: ‘Look, I have people in my family who call themselves closet Kamala voters, and some because they might be voting differently than their spouses, by the way it goes both ways, some because they’re voting Democrat and they’re Republican.

In 2024, located within America, we exercise our freedom to cast votes based on our values, conscience, and beliefs.

You’re free to handle it as you wish; there’s no need for us to disclose or discuss it with anyone else. Whether you choose to keep it confidential or share it openly is entirely up to you.

As a fervent advocate, I emphasized that the very freedom to cast our votes, freely and independently, was earned through the tireless efforts of trailblazers like Susan B. Anthony and the Suffragettes, women who fought valiantly over a century ago. I concluded by acknowledging their sacrifices, expressing my gratitude, and asserting that this right is ours to exercise as we see fit. The studio audience responded with hearty applause.

Alongside her fellow host Sunny Hostin, she expressed her views on the advertisement as well. She commented, “This is an exceptional commercial. It resonates deeply with women nationwide. The language he’s been using seems to have touched a nerve.

“It appears that more than 65 million citizens in America have already cast their votes before Election Day, and a significant number of those voters are women. Among these women, particularly young ones, the preservation of reproductive health rights is a top priority.

The speaker seems to believe that Kamala has a strong advantage among female voters, which will likely lead her to victory in this election. This assumption is based on the idea that women may choose to vote differently from their spouses.

Alyssa Farah Griffin added her thoughts as well, stating: ‘Initially, when observing this scenario, I found myself completely disconnected, for in my own marriage, my husband values my perspectives, and if we ever differ, I maintain autonomy – and that’s perfectly acceptable.’

However, I had conversations with my associates, and the topic seemed to circulate… we’ve all encountered women who may choose to vote differently than their partners without disclosing it openly. They confide in their female friends about this, leading their husbands to believe they might be voting for Trump.

‘I want to be impartial, but it’s possible that some of my relatives may not openly admit they’re supporting Trump. So, I consider both sides. However, I notice there seems to be a significant gender difference in this election, and Kamala Harris appears to have a 15-point lead among women voters.’

‘I think it works, it’s a smart ad,’ the former White House aide added.
