BBC has given fans a sneak peek at its new series, Mint, which is set to launch this spring. The show is a unique crime drama that follows Shannon and Arran, who find love even though their families are locked in a bitter feud.
Shannon quickly falls in love with Arran, a newcomer to town who belongs to a rival criminal family. Their connection is strong and will change both of their lives, but others around them don’t approve of the relationship.
Things were already crazy with this secret relationship I’m following, but then Shannon’s life got even more complicated! Her dad, Dylan, suddenly decided to step down as head of the family, and the person taking over? Honestly, they’re really unsettling. It’s like he’s handing everything over to someone dangerous, and I’m seriously worried about what’s going to happen next.

The series explores the changing relationships within Shannon’s family – her parents, brother Luke, and strong-willed grandmother, Ollie – and how they each experience things differently.
I’m so excited about the new series! We finally got a first look at Emma Laird and Ben Coyle-Larner as Shannon and Arran, and they both look amazing. It’s especially cool to see Ben, who I know as the musician Loyle Carner, making his acting debut – I can’t wait to see what he does with the role!

The next picture shows the feuding families facing off in a dangerous fight, weapons ready. Will this lead to a heartbreaking end for the couple in love, or will their love be strong enough to overcome everything?
The video also reveals the first time Shannon and Arran meet, showing them encountering each other at a train station at night. Shannon’s face brightens when she spots Arran waiting on the platform.
They made eye contact, and then she playfully flipped him off. He responded in kind, and even without any words, it was clear they had a strong connection.

Mint is a new TV series created and written by Charlotte Regan, who is also known for her work on Scrapper. This will be Regan’s first TV series, and she will direct and executive produce all eight episodes.
Joining the cast alongside Laird and Coyle-Larner are Sam Riley, known for Maleficent; Laura Fraser, famous from Breaking Bad; Lewis Gribben, who appeared in Black Mirror; and Lindsay Duncan, a star of Sherwood.
The new series, Mint, is coming to BBC iPlayer and BBC One this spring, though the specific release date hasn’t been revealed yet.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautiful 100-page, full-color magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
