An original Avengers star has ruled out their return for Doomsday

Okay, so this is a bummer for all of us Hulk fans. Mark Ruffalo, who’s played Bruce Banner in the MCU since The Avengers came out in 2012, has basically said he won’t be back for Avengers: Doomsday. That means we probably won’t see him smash things up in that one, and honestly, it’s a bit of a letdown considering he’s been in all four Avengers movies up until now.

Mark Ruffalo, discussing the next Avengers movie, confirmed he won’t be appearing in Doomsday, which is scheduled to come out in theaters on December 18th.

As reported by The Direct, the actor revealed the news while speaking with his Marvel Cinematic Universe colleague, Chris Hemsworth, during a conversation about their new movie, Crime 101.

Mark Ruffalo recently told Empire Magazine that he won’t be appearing alongside Chris Hemsworth (who plays Thor) in the next Avengers movie, which fans are eagerly awaiting.

Although fans will likely be disappointed, the actor who plays the Hulk said he’d consider reprising the role if the script offered exciting opportunities for the character.

He explained that as long as people continue to find creative ways to use the Hulk character, he’s grateful. He feels that his career wouldn’t be where it is today – he might even be in trouble with the law – if he hadn’t been a part of The Avengers.

Mark Ruffalo wasn’t the only original Avenger from the first Avengers movie who won’t be in the new film. Jeremy Renner, who played Hawkeye, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, also won’t be appearing.

Good news for fans: Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled to premiere on July 31st.

Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker, recently shared with Esquire how he prepared for his latest film. He explained that he did a lot of online research in secret and then presented his findings to the people in charge at Marvel.

Holland explained that he got a sense of what audiences wanted and then presented his ideas to Marvel, ultimately shaping the direction they took. He believes they’re now successfully following that vision.

Developing this movie has been a really enjoyable experience. It’s the first time I’ve been involved so early on, and it’s definitely been challenging, but now that filming has started, everything is going incredibly well – we’re creating something special.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 18 December.
