James Bond is in a league of its own when it comes to movie franchises. The series has been a fixture in cinemas for decades, starring many different actors as the iconic 007. After Daniel Craig finished his run with No Time to Die, Pierce Brosnan took on the role previously. Recently, Brosnan was playfully asked what Bond might be doing for Christmas, and his attempt at an answer didn’t quite land as expected.
As a huge movie fan, I’ve loved seeing Pierce Brosnan in everything since he hung up James Bond’s tuxedo – like Black Adam and The Thursday Murder Club (which you can find on Netflix, by the way!). But let’s be real, he is Bond to a lot of us. So, when The Times asked the 72-year-old what he thinks Bond would be getting up to during the holidays, he had a pretty interesting answer, and he didn’t hesitate to share it!
I’m not going to answer that question. Frankly, I don’t care, and I don’t want to waste my time speculating about something like where James Bond spends Christmas.
I admire his candor. Celebrities give many interviews, which can be draining, and even though Pierce Brosnan hasn’t been James Bond for a long time, people probably still ask him about it. He simply didn’t want to speculate about what the character might be doing, even in a fun, hypothetical situation like Christmas.
Actors who play James Bond understand they’ll probably be best known for their action-packed roles. While Pierce Brosnan is accustomed to discussing his time as 007, he was clearly annoyed by questions about how the character celebrates the holidays, leading to his surprisingly blunt reaction.

It makes me wonder if other actors who’ve played James Bond get tired of always being asked about the role. Daniel Craig famously said he’d rather do almost anything than make another Bond film before agreeing to No Time to Die. I can only imagine how he’d react if someone asked him something silly, like how James Bond celebrates Christmas!
Everyone is wondering who will be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig, and what story direction the new film, Bond 26, will take. The actor chosen for the role will face a lot of pressure and constant comparisons to previous Bonds, and will undoubtedly be asked repeatedly about portraying the iconic character created by Ian Fleming.
Okay, so we’re all still waiting to find out when the next James Bond film is coming out, which is a bummer. But good news for Bond fans – you can actually stream a ton of older Bond movies on Tubi right now, and it’s totally free! I’m really hoping we get some updates on the next installment soon, though.
