An emotional Hugh Jackman reunites with veteran performer from the original X-Men film: 'His story is incredible'

As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in both film and personal growth, I must say that Hugh Jackman‘s heartwarming reunion with Ke Huy Quan is a testament to the enduring power of friendship. The bond they forged on the set of X-Men two decades ago has proven to be timeless, transcending the boundaries of time and career milestones.

Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman has paid tribute to Oscar winning performer Ke Huy Quan.

On a heartfelt note, Hugh took to social media last Friday to share that he had a long-awaited reunion with the actor from Everything Everywhere All at Once, after being apart for a quarter of a century.

In the year 2000, they encountered each other on the movie set of X-Men. At that time, the actor, who hails from Saigon, was a member of the stunt crew for the highly successful Marvel film.

55-year-old fan favorite posted on Instagram that he recently had a meeting with Kế Huy, aged 51 (also recognized as Kihui Kwan), when they both attended an event honoring Marvel’s President Kevin Feige last month.

Hugh posted a photo showing him with Kế Huy in Los Angeles, not long after Feige was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a gushing caption in honour of his old friend Hugh described Kế Huy as ‘incredible’.

Hugh started by saying, ‘It’s amazing that with the release of the [Wolverine] film, numerous instances are arising which highlight the twenty-five years I’ve spent portraying Wolverine.’

He continued: ‘And so the other day the Walk of Fame induction ceremony for Kevin Feigy.

I had the chance to meet Kihui Kwan (Kế Huy), who has just been awarded an Oscar and has a truly remarkable life story. His professional journey is nothing short of spectacular as well.

In a heart-pounding moment, our eyes met, and I rushed to wrap him in a warm embrace. Together, we forged an unbreakable bond while collaborating on the epic adventure of X-Men: First Class. At that very instant, he was part of the stunt team, masterfully executing jaw-dropping action sequences for this movie.

Initially, I must say he’s amazing, the team too, and it was through them that I truly grasped the art of action films and stunt work. It was simply fascinating to reconnect with him, making the experience incredibly cool. So, yes!

Born as Ke Huy, later recognized as Jonathan Ke Quan, gained widespread recognition when he portrayed a significant character as a child actor in the hit movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by Steven Spielberg.

Another Spielberg blockbuster production, The Goonies followed in 1985.

In 2022, Kế Huy was awarded the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role in the critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning comedy-fantasy film “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

It comes after Hugh recently broke down in tears as he celebrated his latest box office hit.

Overwhelmed by the news, the lead actor on both stage and screen found himself shedding tears in his vehicle upon discovering that his latest production, Deadpool & Wolverine, had topped global box office charts.

On a video shared on Twitter on Monday, Hugh was seen reading the news on his phone. He initially chuckled softly, then exclaimed, “Wow, oh my goodness!”

Happy tears began flowing as the revelation sunk in.

Additionally, Hugh posted the update on his Instagram, stating, ‘Wolverine and Deadpool are currently the number one films globally. A big thank you to everyone!’

As a seasoned lifestyle expert who has spent years immersed in the dynamic world of entertainment and pop culture, I can confidently say that it’s not every day you come across a post as iconic as this one. The image of Wolverine, my all-time favorite character, lounging on a couch with the caption ‘Number One Movie in the World’ – it’s a moment that truly encapsulates the power and influence of cinema.

On its debut weekend, Deadpool and Wolverine earned AUD 10 million domestically, setting a record for the highest grossing R-rated (U.S.) opening weekend ever. Globally, their earnings surpassed industry predictions, totalling an impressive AUD 668.45 million.

The upcoming third installment in the action-comedy series starring Ryan Reynolds, titled “Deadpool & Wolverine,” will be the tenth appearance of Hugh as Wolverine.

Initially, he portrayed Wolverine in the 2000 film “X-Men,” and ever since then, you can find him in various sequels and offshoots of that series.

Last month, I learned that amidst the challenges of my separation from Deborra-Lee Furness, I’ve been drawing immense comfort from my mature children, Oscar, aged 23, and Ava, at 18. These two remarkable individuals have become my pillars of strength in these trying times, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their presence in my life.
