An Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Banned” to Release Next Summer

As a die-hard sneakerhead, I’m excitedly anticipating the release of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Banned” in the summer of 2026. This beauty boasts a captivating colorway of Black/Black/Varsity Red/Summit White (HQ6998-001), and while the market price is yet to be confirmed, it’s sure to be worth every penny. Keep your eyes peeled on Nike for this iconic silhouette!

The commemoration of Jordan Brand’s 40th anniversary for the Air Jordan 1 has been one of this year’s most significant sneaker events. Even though there are still exciting launches on the horizon, such as a new colorway from fragment design x Travis Scott low-tops and the reappearance of the “Shattered Backboard” high-tops, whispers about the model’s 2026 collection are beginning to emerge.

According to a recent report from the trio of sneaker leakers – zSneakerHeadz, Sneaker Files, and Sneaker Market RO – it appears that the iconic “Banned” style of Air Jordan 1’s will reappear in 2026. Unlike its previous high-top iteration in 2011, this time around, the design is expected to be featured on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG model instead. Unfortunately, a first look at the shoe has yet to be released, but we can anticipate that it will retain the classic “Bred” color scheme with an “X” pattern at the heel and come in unique packaging.

Currently, there’s no official confirmation from Jordan Brand that the “Banned” design will be available on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG next year. Keep an eye out for news, such as a sneak peek at the anticipated shoe, as we anticipate its release to take place during summer 2023 via Nike SNKRS and various retailers around the globe.
