As a lifestyle expert, I cannot help but admire Amy Dowden’s indomitable spirit and resilience in the face of adversity. Having survived breast cancer and Crohn’s disease, she has demonstrated an unwavering determination to not only survive but thrive. Her return to Strictly Come Dancing after a two-year absence is a testament to her strength and courage.

Amy Dowden won’t be present during Strictly Come Dancing’s Results show on Sunday, as she experienced a sudden health issue right before the recording of the episode.

On Saturday night, following her performance at the live event, the skilled dancer fell backstage.

As an overjoyed admirer, I found myself shaken last night when the captivating ballroom dancer, aged 34 and known for her resilience in overcoming breast cancer, was rushed to the hospital around 9 PM due to a sudden medical predicament.

On Sundays, the results show for Strictly is taped following the Saturday night live performance, and it’s believed that Amy may have fainted during the short interlude between the two events.

Due to being rushed to the hospital, she won’t be present for this Sunday’s broadcast at 7:20 PM, so it’s JB Gill who will have to tackle the public vote outcomes alone in their dance performance.

On Sunday, a representative from the East of England Ambulance Service stated that they received a call around 9:00 PM on Saturday for an urgent medical situation at Elstree Studios located in Borehamwood.

A emergency vehicle was dispatched to the location. A mature woman who required medical attention was taken to Barnet Hospital for additional treatment.

Just now, the dancer and her famous partner, JB Gill from JLS, had danced the Foxtrot to the song “Dancing in the Moonlight” by Toploader.

But fans noted the dancer was partially seated during her latest performance.

After receiving a combined total of 32 points from judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, the duo moved up to fifth place on the Strictly leaderboard.

According to Amy’s representative, Amy wasn’t feeling well, so they decided to call an ambulance just to be on the safe side.

‘She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern.

‘We request Amy’s privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.’

Amy returned to the show following a two year absence in September.

In 2023, following their honeymoon as newlyweds, her life took a drastic turn for the worse when she received a cancer diagnosis the very next day, shattering her world with dancer husband Ben Jones by her side.

Initially, she had faith that surgery might offer a cure, but two months down the line in June, the physicians detected yet another form of cancer instead.

During the most challenging year she ever experienced, this skilled dancer went through a mastectomy, chemotherapy, fertility treatments, and came close to losing her life due to sepsis.

Amy, who also battles Crohn’s disease, confirmed she was cancer-free in February.

Despite needing another five years of treatment and not yet receiving a clean bill of health, she expressed gratitude towards her loved ones for their support during what she described as the most challenging year of her life.

In a cheerful post on Instagram, she shared an image and expressed: “I’ve got no signs of illness! A phrase I’ve long hoped for! My proudest moment so far!

For the next five years, my doctor has advised me that I’ll need to continue treatment due to my hormone-fueled cancer. However, despite this challenging journey, I find myself feeling grateful for hearing words I once thought unimaginable.

‘So grateful for all the care I received and continue to have.

‘To my husband, family and friends who supported me unconditionally and to you guys! Thank you!’

She continued: ‘I will still need a monthly injection for 5 years and regular check ups.

Over the last year, especially with chemotherapy, I’ve noticed a significant impact on my body, both physically and emotionally. Therefore, for the upcoming months, I plan to focus on healing and rejuvenation.

“I’m filled with determination and gratitude for this opportunity to keep living – not everyone gets that chance. Life looks different now, and it’s irrevocably changed for me!
