Among Us 3D: Gaslight your friends in first person

3D Among Us, the latest iteration of the popular online guessing game, will be arriving for computers not long from now.

Initially launched in 2018, Among Us didn’t receive much initial acclaim. However, during the global pandemic in 2020, its popularity soared. Over time, new maps and features like proximity chat were added, contributing to its ongoing success. Despite several similar games emerging during this period, Among Us temporarily dropped out of the spotlight. But when it was introduced to Virtual Reality (VR) towards the end of 2022, it experienced a minor resurgence.

In contrast to the VR version, there will also be a standard release for Among Us, featuring a 3D representation.

Among Us 3D comes to Steam

In the gaming world, Lockdown Protocol has been captivating players with its first-person view, but Among Us 3D aims to reclaim the throne in this category. Despite maintaining the fundamental gameplay from its initial launch, this updated version promises some exciting new elements to keep gamers on their toes.

Proximity voice chat

As a gamer, I’m thrilled about the convenience of in-game proximity voice chat. It means I don’t have to juggle multiple apps just to communicate with fellow players during gameplay. This feature streamlines the process of joining random match lobbies, eliminating the hassle of organizing everyone onto a new voice server. It truly enhances the gaming experience!

New and returning mini-games

It’s common knowledge among players of the game that they are familiar with mini-games such as raking leaves, blasting lasers at rocks, or transferring crucial data. Yet, based on information from its Steam page, it appears that Among Us 3D could potentially introduce some new features.

Crossplay

Even though Among Us 3D is an entirely different game, it shares connectivity with its VR version, allowing players to join lobbies together.

Customization

In the spirit of the original Among Us, Among Us 3D promises an expansive personalization experience, letting players select from a diverse array of hats, gloves, and character skins to make their crewmates truly unique. Since this new game isn’t directly linked to Among Us, it’s likely that any items you acquire in the original game won’t be transferable over here.

At present, t A demo of the game will be accessible from February 24 to March 3 during Steam Next Fest, yet keep in mind that the demo may not include all the features or game modes that will be available when the full version launches.
