America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal has cancelled her upcoming tour dates.
The singer, 22, was set to perform with Natalie Jane on several dates of her ‘The World I Didn’t Want Tour,’ but she recently lost her mother in October.
On Tuesday, she announced on Instagram that she would be cancelling her performance.
Hey everyone, it’s good to be back! I wanted to let you know that I won’t be joining the Natalie Jane tour. I’ve been dealing with some mental health challenges lately and need to prioritize my well-being right now.
She shared a heartfelt message, telling Natalie she loved her and believed in her success. She also apologized to anyone who was upset and promised to release new music soon, expressing gratitude for everyone’s support and understanding.
VanderWaal wrote in the accompanying caption, ‘I apologize, sending love to all of you.’
On January 1 VanderWaal promised fans ‘lots of music and projects to come this year.’
In early February, she released her song “Prettier” and hinted on Instagram that she was excited to perform it live with her fans.
The tour has been canceled shortly after singer VanderWaal’s mother, Tina, passed away from cancer at the age of 53, just five months ago.
The actress, who became famous as a child, shared the heartbreaking news last October in an Instagram post, explaining she was still struggling to express her feelings.
She shared photos of her mother, who has passed away, along with a heartfelt message. She wrote, ‘I love you so much, Mom. I miss waking up and wanting to call you, and I’m struggling to figure out life without you. I love you.’
She spent Christmas Day fondly remembering time with her mom in 2024, and shared old photos as she looked back.
She sent her mom a message saying ‘Merry Christmas.’ She misses hearing her mom’s voice and feels lonely without her. She’s working hard to make her proud and wishes she could still talk to her, as things just aren’t the same anymore.
VanderWaal won the 11th season of America’s Got Talent in 2016 at age 12.
She went on to release her debut studio album Just the Beginning in 2017.
Her latest album, Childstar, was released in April 2025.
The songstress embarked on a mini tour in May, performing six shows across North America.
In March, she announced the performances online, sharing that she was excited to return to the stage after many years and couldn’t wait to share her songs with the audience. She expressed her hope to see everyone at the shows.
VanderWaal had planned to tour with Jane in April and May, including shows in Germany and the UK.
