Jourdan Blue, who appeared on America’s Got Talent, was arrested in Louisiana on Saturday. She faces several charges, including driving under the influence.
According to a report from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office obtained by EW, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter was charged with several offenses, including driving with a suspended license, having an open container in the car, and careless driving.
Blue was subsequently released from custody Saturday, according to authorities.
Oh my gosh, Blue! He’s just… incredible. Everyone loved him on the show, they really did. I almost lost it when he sang ‘Breakeven’ by The Script – it was so good, Howie Mandel actually gave him a Golden Buzzer! I knew from that moment he was going all the way. Seriously, that performance gave me chills, and seeing Howie react like that just confirmed it – Blue is a star!
Blue appeared on the NBC variety series last year for its 20th season, and came in third place.
The Daily Mail has contacted Blue and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for more information about this story.
Blue is popular on TikTok, with over 864,600 followers and more than 3.4 million likes on his videos.
He shared with People magazine last year that the social media platform where he often posts his music has been crucial to developing his career as a performer.
Blue explained that TikTok allowed her to connect with thousands of people she would never have otherwise encountered.
It allowed me to improve my skills, become more self-assured, and reach an audience in unexpected and exciting ways.
Blue improved his skills and gained a following by regularly livestreaming his performances.
I began livestreaming, and it quickly became my main focus,” Blue explained. “Initially, I wasn’t trying to create a brand; I simply wanted to improve my skills, practice performing, and take requests for new songs.
‘Slowly, I started building a room of people who were there consistently.’
In a recent magazine interview, Blue hinted at a history of struggling with drugs and alcohol, revealing that it once led to him experiencing homelessness.
Blue revealed he nearly died from a drug overdose during a difficult period when he made some poor choices.
He explained that he took too much, and those nearby panicked and abandoned him. The following day, some returned to tell him he’d been clinically dead, but somehow survived – it was a miraculous recovery.
The close call really made Blue rethink his life, and it’s what motivated him to stop using drugs.
I didn’t mean for things to go as far as they did, but I suddenly realized how easily my life could have been ruined by one foolish choice,” Blue explained. “I decided to stop completely – cut everything out. It was really difficult, but the positive outcome was far more important than any hardship I faced.
Blue, a father named Jax, wants to share his love of music – and the important lessons it’s taught him – with his son.
For Blue, performing on stage is about more than just a personal achievement. It’s a way to demonstrate to her son that even through difficult and scary times, it’s possible to overcome challenges and create something positive. She hopes this message will stay with him, and it’s a principle she strives to live by daily.
