Okay, so I’m seriously hyped for the new season of American Horror Story! With Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson both coming back – two of the best actresses the show has ever had – everyone’s expecting big things. It’s been a while, and honestly, the buzz is totally justified. I can’t wait to see what they do with season 13!
The anticipation is building, and the already impressive cast – featuring Emma Roberts and Angela Bassett – is getting even bigger with some exciting new additions.
According to Deadline, John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, Matt Fraser, and Berto Colón will be joining the cast of the next season, which is currently untitled. While the story is being kept under wraps, some details about the new characters have been revealed.
Naomi Lynch and John Fraser are returning to play the same characters they portrayed in Freak Show – Twisty the Clown and Paul the Illustrated Seal. Colón is expected to play Joe the Doorman, who works for Lange’s character, and the details of Suvari’s role haven’t been revealed yet.
We’re still learning about the next installment, but the reappearance of Lynch and Fraser suggests it will likely tie into season four, Freak Show.

Besides those already mentioned, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman are all returning for another season. This time around, Ariana Grande and John Waters will be joining the cast as newcomers.
Fans began speculating that the upcoming 13th season of the show would continue the storyline from season three, Coven, after photos of Sarah Paulson on set surfaced last month. While it hasn’t been officially stated, series creator Ryan Murphy hinted that this was indeed the plan.
Fans may be getting what they want! Actress Gabourey Sidibe recently told Entertainment Tonight she’ll be returning as Marie Laveau in the upcoming thirteenth season, a role she originally played in ‘Coven’.
She explained she was reprising her role from Coven, a character she really enjoyed playing and wished she’d gotten the chance to play earlier. She also said she thought Coven was a lot of fun and was happy with how successful it had been.
It was a really fun experience working with amazing actresses like Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, and me, along with talented young actors including Emma and Gabourey. The story allowed us to be dramatic and really embrace the fantastical elements.
