American Arcadia, the Acclaimed Puzzler Set in a Reality TV Show, Coming to Consoles in May

In a recent announcement, developers Out of the Blue Games – responsible for the hit title Call of the Sea under publisher Raw Fury – shared that their popular puzzle game, American Arcadia, is set to release on consoles this coming May.

American Arcadia narrates the tale of Trevor Hills, an ordinary individual attempting to flee from the longest-running reality TV show on earth. This program, which unfolds in a 1970s retro-futuristic metropolis offering opulence and convenience, has been broadcast live around the clock for decades. Unbeknownst to the participants, their lives are linked to their popularity ratings within this perpetual showcase of human existence. The gameplay incorporates intricate puzzles, 2.5D platforming adventures, and first-person perspectives.

If Trevor’s popularity wanes, it could lead to his character being removed from the show, a fate he might face given his ordinary life. Yet, a mysterious voice seems to guide him towards possible liberation – is this genuine or merely a plot device to maintain viewer interest? As Trevor, you’ll navigate 2.5D puzzle-laden platforms, while as Angela, you’ll delve into the environment and hacking to assist him in first-person perspective. Only by working together can you evade the clutches of the corporation determined to suppress you both.

The voice talents of Yuri Lowenthal, Krizia Bajos, and Cissy Jones will bring American Arcadia to life on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch starting from 15th May. This highly-anticipated release will also be available on PC, where it’s already live for gamers.
