It’s been tough since we lost Frank Fritz from *American Pickers*, and now I just heard Mike Wolfe was in a car accident. Apparently, he and his girlfriend, Leticia Cline, were driving an old car near Columbia, Tennessee when it happened. Thankfully, they both seem to be okay, but the car is a total wreck. It’s just been a lot lately, and I’m really glad Mike and Leticia are going to be alright.
On Saturday evening, September 13th, Wolfe posted on social media to say he and Cline were involved in a car accident while driving in Columbia, Tennessee. He didn’t detail the specifics of what happened, but he did share a message with his 587,000 Instagram followers stating:
Leticia and I were in a car accident last night near Columbia, Tennessee. Thankfully, we’re both safe and recovering well. We’re receiving great care at the hospital, and doctors expect Leticia to fully recover. We appreciate your prayers and ask for privacy at this time.
He described the night as difficult and shared a photo seemingly showing the damage to the classic car he and Leticia were in when the accident happened. If the photo is genuine, the car’s severely damaged hood and overall condition really highlight how serious the accident was.

Mike Wolfe’s friend, Robby Klein, made a lighthearted comment about the car accident, joking that it was the last time Mike saw his Impala. Mike is known for collecting classic Hollywood cars and often posts about driving them, including vintage 1960 and 1958 Impalas. The fact that his friend is able to joke about the situation likely means both men are recovering well.
Older cars sometimes get a bad rap. Although they can be big and sturdy, they often lack the safety features we expect in newer vehicles, such as airbags and, in some cases, even seatbelts. While these classic cars are often beautiful and enjoyable to drive, I’m glad everyone was safe and that improvements were made for the fans.
After two decades on TV, Mike Wolfe has scaled back his involvement with *American Pickers* to pursue other creative projects, like a new television show and a film alongside Leticia Cline. While Season 27 aired this summer, the break appeared to be positive for the reality TV veteran-until a recent post on social media.
Honestly, while I’m relieved to hear everyone involved in the incident is okay, I really feel for Mike Wolfe. Seeing that classic blue car – it was a gorgeous piece, truly – and knowing he lost it… that just tugged at my heartstrings. It was a beautiful vintage find, and a real loss for a collector like him.
