Amber Tamblyn Faces Heartbreaking Loss: Her Uncle Larry Tamblyn Has Died

Amber Tamblyn, who has been a good friend of Blake Lively for a long time and starred alongside her in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, is deeply grieving over the passing of her uncle, Larry Tamblyn.

As a devoted admirer, I felt compelled to share the heartbreaking news: On March 21st, Larry from The Standells, an iconic band renowned for their 1966 hit “Dirty Water” and influential acts such as the Sex Pistols and Ramones, passed away at the age of 82. This information was announced on Facebook.

After hearing about the news, Amber, daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn, expressed gratitude on Instagram towards her followers for their sympathy and condolences offered to her and her family during this challenging period.

She expressed her intention to pen a tribute for her uncle, who was a talented songwriter, whom she held dear, on her Instagram story after his demise.

At this time, Larry’s cause of death has not been revealed.

In the ’60s, Larry took on dual roles, playing keyboards and singing for his well-liked punk band, which he helped establish.

Earlier in his career, Larry functioned as a lone artist, releasing multiple singles such as “Dearest,” “Patty Ann,” “This Is The Night,” “My Bride To Be,” and “Destiny” on Faro and Linda Records during the late ’50s and early ’60s.

His nephew, Dennis Tamblyn, announced his uncle’s death in a heartfelt post on Friday.

Today, my beloved uncle Larry Tamblyn has passed away. I have cherished memories of him and his family throughout the years, as I shared with him on Facebook. He had an extraordinary life, and was a member of the band The Standells, whose famous song “Dirty Water” is still played whenever the Red Sox or Bruins triumph in their home games.

He went on saying: ‘A few years back, The Standells performed at Hotel Congress here in Tucson, Ariz., and Larry chose to stay with me. It was fantastic to spend time with him and reminisce. He continued creating music even into his later life. Rest in peace, Uncle Larry.’

Amber’s post appeared three months following the time when Amber, America Ferrera, and Alexis Bledel (her costars from “The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants”) publicly supported Blake Lively during her legal dispute with Justin Baldoni.

Following accusations of sexual harassment against her It Ends With Us co-star by Lively, which he has consistently refuted, the trio published a unified statement on Instagram.

For more than two decades, we have been close companions and siblings to Blake. We unite with her in strength as she bravely counters the alleged smear tactic aimed at tarnishing her image, as stated in their declaration.

During the production of It Ends With Us, she demonstrated bravery by advocating for a secure work environment not just for herself, but also for her fellow crew members, as was reported.

They went on to express their shock at discovering a calculated and malicious attempt to undermine her, aiming to silence her perspective.

Besides criticizing Baldoni, the trio of actresses also expressed their disapproval towards his supposed effort to overshadow Lively’s role – an allegation made in a private communication leaked through court documents – by claiming it was under the pretense of noble intentions and aiming to highlight domestic violence, a key theme in It Ends With Us.

What’s particularly distressing is using the accounts of domestic violence victims to suppress a woman’s call for protection, as Lively’s Sisterhood co-stars pointed out. The level of hypocrisy in this situation is truly shocking.”

This version maintains the original sentiment and meaning but uses simpler language and a more conversational tone, making it easier to read and understand.

‘It’s startling to realize that a woman as powerful, admired, and well-resourced as Blake can still face harsh backlash when advocating for a safe work environment. We are in awe of her bravery in standing up not only for herself but also for others.’

If you’re interested in delving deeper into this significant topic or wish to contribute to the discussion online, I recommend checking out the complete legal complaint detailed in the investigative piece by Megan Twohey, Mike McIntire, and Julie Tate for The New York Times.

Moreover, Ferrera and Tamblyn also posted a link to the New York Times article regarding the lawsuit Lively filed last Friday, on their respective Instagram Stories.

In her Instagram post, Tamblyn stated that she served as a trusted advisor during some challenging times experienced by her sister Blake.

‘I remember how incredibly painful it was for her,’ she recalled.

In retaliation to the lawsuit filed by Lively, Baldoni countered with a $400 million defamation suit aimed at Lively, her representative, and her spouse Ryan. However, they have all refuted these claims as well.

Additionally, he initiated a defamation lawsuit worth $250 million against The New York Times, stemming from their coverage of the accusations made by Lively.

In the recent past, I found myself joining the ongoing dispute between Lively and Baldoni by asserting that I wasn’t the sole individual who felt uneasy during the filming of ‘It Ends With Us’.

In my own words, I’ve recently strengthened my case by presenting additional evidence in support of my initial claims, as stated in a revised complaint filed in New York federal court. Notably, a representative for the actress has shared that other women have confided in me about their discomfort, as reported by People magazine.

Bryan Freedman, attorney for Balondi, stated that they’ve been open about providing receipts, current documents, and videos telling a story quite distinct from what has been selectively presented to the media. Despite the jests made in public by the plaintiff and her spouse, they have given this matter and these issues the gravity they deserve.

He went on to say that her weakened lawsuit, which relies heavily on unverified accounts from unknown sources, shows no one is willing to back her allegations publicly anymore. He emphasized the importance of upcoming depositions from those who initially supported false claims about Ms. Lively and witnesses to her actions. He found it troubling that she has little concrete evidence to support her claims.

According to DailyMail.com, Lively’s legal representatives, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, stated that the updated complaint filed against Baldoni offers substantial new evidence and verification for her initial allegations.

They mentioned that the information includes past conversations between Lively, Sony Pictures, Baldoni’s production company Wayfarer Studios, as well as several other witnesses, which were not publicly known before.

It appears that the updated form of the complaint allegedly incorporates a new accusation of defamation against Baldoni, a claim that was absent from the original filing made on New Year’s Eve.

As per Hudson and Gottlieb’s account, Lively has initiated a lawsuit alleging defamation, stemming from the series of untrue claims the defendants have made about her ever since she first filed her initial complaint.

Additionally, she’s broadened her lawsuit to include Jed Wallace and Street Relations, Inc., their crisis management firm based in Texas, among the defendants.

Previously, Wallace, who asserts he wasn’t involved in a smear campaign against the star of Gossip Girl, initiated a lawsuit for $7 million. This legal action was taken following Lively’s claim in her original complaint that Wallace’s firm ‘used a digital army’ to attack her, acting on behalf of Baldoni.

In her initial grievance, she asked for Wallace’s removal (from the case), but later in February, he disclosed that this request had been withdrawn as it appeared in a subsequent lawsuit.

Lively’s new filing alleges that others on the set of It Ends With Us can corroborate her claims.

The argument suggests that the story constructed by Baldoni and his associates falls apart when confronted with the undeniable reality that the actress was not the only one voicing complaints against Mr. Baldoni.

The document aims to prove that she voiced her issues promptly as they occurred in the year 2023, rather than in relation to any supposed power struggle over the film in 2024.

As per a representative from Lively, the revised document provides evidence supporting Blake’s initial claims of sexual harassment and retaliation.

It’s claimed that the document shows that other women shared with Blake their unease about revealing their discomfort and apprehension regarding speaking up, as well as their worry about the ongoing harsh criticism in the public sphere.

Regardless of the ongoing court dispute between them, there’s no sign of a resolution for either Lively or Baldoni at present.

The judge set a trial date for the lawsuits in March 2026, which is in January, and neither side intends to pursue mediation.
