Amber Gill claims she used to get told off by Love Island producers ‘every day’ because she ‘didn’t like any of the men’ on the show
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Amber Gill’s journey on Love Island was nothing short of extraordinary. Her story is a testament to resilience, self-discovery, and finding love where you least expect it.
According to Amber Gill, she was frequently reprimanded by Love Island producers each day because she didn’t find any of the male contestants appealing on the program.
In the year 2019, the successful influencer, then 27 years old, won the series. She swiftly fell in love with Michael Griffiths; however, he heartlessly ended their relationship to pursue Joanna Chimonides instead.
After shaking off and preparing to wrap up the 2019 version of the solo performance, she was unexpectedly swept off her feet by Irish rugby union player Greg O’Shea.
Later on, Amber revealed her queer identity and had a relationship with Arsenal player Jen Beattie for nearly a year. However, their relationship ended in December 2023 following 11 months together.
On Capital XTRA last Friday, Amber was challenged to reveal something about Love Island that would catch the hosts, Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie, off guard. She admitted, “Since I didn’t fancy any of the guys, therefore…”
As the one who ignited some excitement back in August, sporting a petite black-and-white swimsuit that turned heads, I said: ‘None of the gentlemen caught my fancy, so…’
Robert joked back: ‘Like, premise of the show, done!’
Amber replied: ‘I know! I used to get told off every day though … By the producers.
Originally it was stated: “On Love Island, you’re only seen as sunbathing.” To which I responded: “Yes, I realize that. My apologies!”
She and Greg split the £50,000 prize and split themselves two months later.
Amber and Jen’s relationship was also sadly short-lived.
The reason behind their split was said to be a lack of time spent together.
A source told the Mail: ‘Amber and Jen have decided to end their relationship.
Despite their friendly relationship, they parted ways on agreeable terms, yet over time found it challenging to keep up with each other due to scheduling difficulties.
Although there remains a deep affection for each other, Amber and Jen have chosen to part ways romantically. However, Amber will forever cherish Jen’s unique position in her heart. This separation seems to be the most beneficial choice for both of them at this moment in time.
In April, Amber sparked rumours that she had moved on from Alex with an influencer called Nakita Johnson, but she hasn’t been seen with her since.
Earlier, Amber had expressed about her sexuality: “People assume I’m just seeking attention and claim I’m experimenting with a new identity…”
1. I’m absolutely not someone who craves attention, as you can probably tell. It was only expected that something like this would occur given the straightforward nature of Love Island.
