Amazon Just Won the Streaming Wars as Apple TV Will Be Available on Prime Video in the U.S.

The service has existed in various forms for more than ten years, but is now truly succeeding in the streaming world thanks to a surprising collaboration. Following recent successes, it has also partnered with Apple TV.

Amazon revealed a significant new agreement on April 10th. Although Amazon hasn’t bought Apple TV or its shows and movies, by offering Apple’s streaming service as an addition to Prime Video, Amazon is essentially bringing it into their own system. This gives Amazon control over how people find and sign up for Apple’s content, even without completely owning it.

Apple TV Is Launching on Prime Video

Prime Video and Apple TV are both popular services for renting or buying digital movies and TV shows, often letting you watch new releases soon after they finish playing in cinemas. Their recent collaboration is significant, as it means Prime Video will have even more content available to stream.

Amazon Prime already lets you subscribe to services like Starz, Paramount+, MGM+, and AMC+ for an extra cost. Now, starting later this month, you’ll also be able to add Apple TV+ to your Prime membership in the U.S. This add-on will cost $9.99 per month, in addition to your regular Prime fee.

Subscribers will now have access to high-quality shows and movies on Apple TV+, including popular titles like Severance, The Studio, Slow Horses, The Morning Show, Presumed Innocent, Shrinking, Hijack, Loot, Palm Royale, as well as films such as F1, Fountain of Youth, Wolfs, and The Gorge.

Mike Hopkins, who leads Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, recently highlighted the benefits of a new partnership. He stated that Prime Video is a leading entertainment hub, providing a diverse range of content, including original shows and movies from Amazon MGM Studios, live sports, licensed films and series, and options to rent or buy titles, as well as add-on streaming channels.

We’re excited to add Apple TV+ shows, movies, and events to Prime Video, making it even easier for customers to find and enjoy all their favorite content in one place, as we continue to improve our service,” said Hopkins.

Apple’s Eddy Cue, who leads the company’s Services division, explained that this change is about bringing Apple TV and its highly acclaimed shows and movies – created by top storytellers – to a wider audience.

Apple TV and Prime Video Are an Unstoppable Pair
