Amanda Seyfried stuns in a white mini dress as she joins glamorous Claire Foy and Channing Tatum at Golden Globes cocktail party during BFI London Film Festival

At a Golden Globes cocktail party held during the 2025 BFI London Film Festival on Sunday, Amanda Seyfried and Claire Foy were spotted alongside Channing Tatum, drawing plenty of attention.

The 39-year-old Mamma Mia! star looked fantastic in a short, white knitted dress, paired with a chic trench coat and black knee-high boots.

Amanda looked radiant with her wavy blonde hair as she smiled for the cameras on the red carpet at the party, held at The Dorchester.

Claire, 41, the actress known for her role in The Crown, looked stunning in a sheer black blouse paired with a tailored blazer and trousers.

The British actress, fresh from the premiere of her new film, ‘H is for Hawk,’ finished her look with a pair of boots and styled her dark hair in a simple low bun.

Channing, 45, looked sharp in a beige tweed suit with a white T-shirt.

73-year-old Celia Imrie looked fantastic in a red blazer, black trousers, and boots.

Tessa Thompson showed off her legs in a short, white dress with a flowing design, paired with high black heels.

She looked in good spirits as she posed with Nina Hoss and Nicholas Pinnock during the party.

This year the London Film Festival is running from 8 to 19 October with a series of events.

Amanda recently shared that she really wanted a particular part and auditioned for it six times!

In a recent interview on Backstage’s In the Envelope podcast, actress and Mean Girls star revealed she auditioned for the role of Elphaba in Wicked several times.

She explained that she’s reached a point in her career where she doesn’t need to audition for roles anymore. However, she shared that she actually auditioned for the musical *Wicked* about six times.

‘Because that had to be really just right,’ the American star said. ‘And I like, I loved it.’

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was listening to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and Amanda was *talking* about her Wicked audition! It was back in March, and she went into detail – I seriously could have listened to her talk about it all day. It was amazing!

She explained that she felt very well-prepared, and that her voice had never been stronger than it was during the auditions.

‘And that’s kind of what I got out of it,’ Seyfried told host Josh Horowitz.

She continued, saying she still believes everything happens for a reason. She also cherished the opportunity to sing with Cynthia, calling it a special moment.

In a November interview with The New York Times, Cynthia said she wasn’t at all surprised to hear that Ariana Grande, 31, had been cast as Glinda.

Ariana remembered thinking, ‘Thank God!’ at the moment. Cynthia explained that she was relieved because she hadn’t been evaluating those two women.

Cynthia didn’t say who else she auditioned with, but Amanda Seyfried mentioned in 2022 that she also tried out for the role of Glinda. However, Seyfried didn’t confirm whether she auditioned with Cynthia.

While filming *The Dropout* – where she portrayed Elizabeth Holmes and later won an Emmy – she was also auditioning for other roles.

Amanda is now okay with not getting the role of Glinda and has been very supportive of Ariana, complimenting her performance.

‘I do, again, think everything happens for a reason,’ she said.

Over ten years ago, Amanda turned down the part of Gamora in the hit movie Guardians of the Galaxy, which starred Chris Pratt.

While publicizing her new show, Long Bright River, on Peacock, the actress talked about how fortunate she’s been to have so many great roles throughout her career.

Seyfried also shared a story about nearly being cast in James Gunn’s 2014 superhero movie, which was based on Marvel Comics.

During a March 20th interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, she said she knew accepting the role was a risk when it was first offered to her.

She told Josh Horowitz that starring in a failed Marvel movie can really hurt an actor’s career.

I initially worried this project, with a talking tree and raccoon, would be a disaster for Marvel and end Chris Pratt’s and my careers. Thankfully, I was mistaken.

The actor from Allentown, Pennsylvania, didn’t even think about playing Gamora—a role that eventually went to Zoe Saldaña. Casting Saldaña was a bit of a gamble, considering James Gunn both directed and co-wrote the movie.

She described the filmmaker as a brilliant, enjoyable, and incredibly talented director, capable of successfully bringing any vision to life.

I was too afraid to take the risk. My career was at a sensitive point, and I didn’t want to face negative consequences for trying.

Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge success, earning over $773 million worldwide on a production budget of around $196 million.

Even with how popular superhero movies have become, Seyfried remains confident in her choice to trust her instincts and decline the role.

I’ve experimented with green screen technology before, but I didn’t really enjoy it. I stand by all my choices, though. I make decisions based on what feels right for me at the time, and that was the right thing for me then, and it still is now.
