Amanda Seyfried shares a sweet hug with pal Selena Gomez at a screening of her film The Testament of Ann Lee

Amanda Seyfried and Selena Gomez shared a warm hug at a movie screening of Seyfried’s film, The Testament of Ann Lee.

On Friday night in Los Angeles, the star of Mamma Mia, age 40, hosted a screening and party to celebrate the upcoming release of her new historical musical drama.

In “The Testament of Ann Lee,” Amanda plays Ann, the woman who started the Shaker Movement. Her followers believed she was the female version of Christ.

Amanda looked stylish for the evening in a sleek, black midi-dress. The dress was sleeveless, fitted, and had a low-cut neckline.

Singer and actress Selena joined her at the movie screening, and the two shared a hug while posing for photos.

I absolutely loved Selena’s outfit! She chose a chic black mini-dress – it was off-the-shoulder with a really flattering ruched shape. She completed the look with opaque tights and shiny patent stilettos, and it was just perfect.

Writer and director Mona Fastvold also attended, wearing a cropped black shirt and low-rise trousers with heels, showcasing her toned abs.

Amanda’s co-star Lewis Pullman meanwhile wore a dusty purple corduroy suit with a pale pink shirt.

I’m so excited! Amanda has not one, but two movies coming out really close together this month! First, she’s in ‘The Housemaid’ with Sydney Sweeney, which hits theaters on December 19th, and then ‘The Testament of Ann Lee’ is coming out on Christmas Day. I’ve already marked my calendar – it’s going to be a busy but amazing holiday season!

This follows Amanda’s recent admission to Who What Wear that she only receives Botox in one specific area.

She explained that her dermatologist always uses the same Botox injections in her forehead, and will continue to do so indefinitely. She pointed to the area where she usually gets the injections.

For her part in The Testament of Ann Lee, Amanda couldn’t get Botox or any cosmetic injections because the director, Mona, wanted a completely natural look with no makeup or cosmetic procedures.

I recently learned from Amanda’s interview with Vanity Fair that she really immersed herself in preparation for playing Ann Lee, the 18th-century Shaker leader. She wanted to portray the role as truthfully and authentically as possible, and that meant really understanding the world Ann Lee lived in.

‘I couldn’t get Botox for a year. That was a big assignment…,’ she told the publication.

I initially loved getting Botox because I tend to frown quite a bit. However, I eventually realized I needed to be able to express myself naturally for my work, so the effects wore off, which was actually a good thing.

Amanda explained to etalkctv at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere on September 9th that dealing with attention is simply part of her work.

She explained that acting is her passion and profession. She doesn’t feel a need for anything more; she simply enjoys it.

‘The things that I like, I can sacrifice a little. Of course, I can.’

We definitely had to make some compromises, but it was all worth it. Each day was enjoyable, and we didn’t just get by – we truly flourished, she said.

Amanda recently shared that becoming a parent has made it difficult to balance work and her various projects, which she believes might be contributing to her stress and frown lines.

The actress and her husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, have two children: a daughter named Nina, born in 2017, and a son born in 2020, whose name they have not made public.

‘Honestly, right now, it’s really hard,’ the actress told Us Weekly.

I’ve never balanced so much work with my kids, and it’s the first time I’ve had two films released simultaneously.

‘And so, I’m a little bit bananas right now.’
