In recent times, many other large intellectual properties have been revived for sequels, with more in development or set to be released soon, like Jurassic World Rebirth and Spaceballs 2. However, if given the opportunity, I would gladly take on Mamma Mia! 3 without hesitation.

Although there’s no definitive announcement for Mamma Mia 3 yet, the producer Judy Craymer hinted in 2020 that the series was intended to be a trilogy, and she’s confident Universal will give it the go-ahead. There’s been buzz lately with Sabrina Carpenter being rumored for a part. Meanwhile, Seyfried herself has mentioned her desire to sing the franchise’s iconic title song in a threequel since Meryl Streep and Lily James performed it in the previous films.

It’s tough not to admire Seyfried’s openness about her desire for a hypothetical third film. She’s shared positive sentiments about the process of making the initial two movies. Moreover, that’s not the sole sequel or cinematic project she has in her sights.

Amanda Seyfried has shown enthusiasm towards starring in Jennifer’s Body 2, which might come as a surprise since the initial 2009 release was a financial failure at the box office. However, with time, the movie has amassed a significant cult following, and a sequel could attract fans from various age groups.

It’s not inaccurate for the former Les Misérables actor to claim that sequels have flooded Hollywood. After all, it could be debated that creating sequels doesn’t necessarily require much creativity when compared to original works. However, these follow-ups tend to generate significant revenue, as demonstrated by the box office success of films like Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine.
