Amanda Seyfried reveals the drug she did with pal Adam Brody when they were in their 20s

In an interview for Variety’s Actor Talks series, Amanda Seyfried caught up with her old friend, Adam Brody.

16 years back, they first crossed paths on the movie set of Jennifer’s Body from 2009. Nowadays, they’re both involved in successful TV shows – her show is titled Long Bright River, while his is called Nobody Wants This.

In the course of their conversation, the seasoned Hollywood actor mentioned an occasion when they experimented with a substance together, along with Brody.

To initiate the discussion, Seyfried brought up the topic, “Remember when we played Guitar Hero together on the set of Jennifer’s Body?

Brody, 45, replied: ‘No. But I think you had a rental car, and we drove to a beach.’

In this situation, Seyfried said, “Yes, we got high,” to which Adam responded, “To be honest, I don’t recall that moment. I was so high, I didn’t remember it.

Later on, Seyfried remarked: ‘I’m not sure if I could use marijuana again. It seems like I might be sensitive to it. I had some unpleasant encounters. However, I recall it being the most serene. That was likely my last time. There’s a chance we may have gotten high together at your place, which I now own.’

Amanda then moved on to another topic.

She said that Adam ‘has an effect on people’ and is doing so well these days with his hit show.

He jumped in with the joke, ‘I don’t think it’s pot-related.’

Seyfried shared, ‘It’s just that you make people feel at ease.’

When Adam inquired about her role in the 2004 film “Mean Girls” alongside Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, Amanda displayed an unexpected response.

She was only 17-years-old when she made the film and had to have her mother live with her off set.

The star said she really loves ‘seeing my face on people’s T-shirts.’

As a lifestyle advisor, I must admit, it stirred up an unpleasant sensation within me: A lingering sense of disappointment and a hint of frustration, knowing that Paramount has yet to settle an outstanding debt related to my image rights.

‘Every store sells Mean Girls T-shirts with our faces. Don’t I [get something from that]?

‘Even the girl at TSA tells me it’s her favorite movie.’

Suddenly, the conversation took an unexpected turn with him saying, “Oh my goodness, don’t you recall that time we worked on Lovelace, and I… well, you know?

2013’s film titled “Lovelace” is a biographical drama that focuses on the life of Linda Lovelace, a former adult entertainer who gained fame as the lead actress in the groundbreaking 1972 movie “Deep Throat.

Speaking about his role in the film, Adam expressed, “Reflecting on it now, I would describe my part as an iconic oral sex scene – famously known as ‘deep throat.’ What are your thoughts on that movie today?

She shared that she had an exceptional time working on that movie, and she was pleased that it showcased her acting abilities.

In my perspective, I placed less emphasis on the reception and more on transforming the perception others have of me within the professional sphere. Frankly, it’s quite simple to find oneself confined to a specific role or expectation, which I aimed to avoid.

Later on, Brody mentioned his encounter with Harvey Weinstein regarding the acquisition of Lovelace: ‘There were whispers about him, but nothing as extensive as it turned out to be. I extended an invitation for a screening [at Sundance].’

In a lively atmosphere, he appeared and declared, “I’ve acquired it,” at which point I embraced him warmly. He stood out as the dominant figure in the room – his support for our independent project was crucial because it signified that it would gain traction.
