Amanda Seyfried Opens Up About Lindsay Lohan’s Career Resurgence

Amanda Seyfried had nothing but good things to say about her Mean Girls co-star Lindsay Lohan.

The Mamma Mia star, 39, discussed Lohan’s recent career resurgence in an interview with E! News.

‘She has something. She has a charm and a smile. You want to root for her,’ Amanda said.

Additionally, Amanda recalled the instance when she and her former Mean Girls co-stars came together for a widely shared Walmart advertisement.

Together, we filmed a hilarious Walmart commercial. It’s as if Lindsay, Lacey Chabert, and I picked up right where we left off, in spirit,” she explained.

During the bustling red carpet chat, Amanda casually shared her excitement about watching Lindsay and Jamie Lee Curtis in the upcoming Freaky Friday film.

In the year 2004, Amanda and Lindsay shared the screen in a comedic movie for teens. Lindsay portrayed the freshman character Cady Heron, while Lindsay Seyfried brought humor to the role of the naive Karen Smith, who was part of the popular group known as the ‘Plastics.’

In my professional opinion as a lifestyle expert, the movie I was involved with truly made waves in the entertainment industry. It raked in an impressive $130 million globally and transformed into an unforgettable part of pop culture. This was all thanks to the brilliantly witty script penned by Tina Fey, filled with catchphrases that have become household quotes, such as ‘On Wednesdays, we wear pink.’

The influence it exerts has remained strong for over twenty years, leading to a musical on Broadway, a planned movie remake in 2024, and a loyal fanbase who commemorate “Mean Girls” annually on October 3rd.

Amanda is currently immersed in the process of publicizing her latest NBC series titled “Long Bright River.” In this production, she portrays Mickey Fitzpatrick, a Philadelphia police officer and a single mother who is on a mission to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances of several drug-addicted sex workers, including her own sister.

The series, which is based on the novel by the same name by Liz Moore and Nikki Toscano.

Amanda executive produces the series and she’s getting a lot of buzz for her acting chops in it.

During a chat with People for the promotion of Long Bright River, Amanda reminisced about an awkward incident that transpired during the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.

At the 2023 Critics Choice Awards, she casually admitted, “My gown unexpectedly revealed my outfit due to a mishap.” She had chosen an exceptional vintage dress for the event and amusingly asked her stylist to wear it prior, just for a laugh.

The dress was an elegant gold Dior number featuring off-shoulder sleeves, subtly accentuated by a nude-hued see-through overlay around the upper bodice area.

She recalled the moment her dress malfunctioned, right in front of actor Glen Powell from Nobody But You: ‘I was chatting with Glen Powell, near my table, we were having a jovial exchange, and as I playfully raised my arms, my dress unexpectedly revealed more than intended. It seemed to have fallen apart.’

The Mean Girls sensation remembered Glen being polite about the blunder.

She shared with the publication that we both let out a scream, and since he’s such a considerate man, he shielded me. It seemed like he hadn’t looked, though I can’t be sure. None of us were prepared for what happened, but that dress certainly appeared worn-out to me.

Seyfried commented on the antique dress, “It seemed like it was barely stitched, and it actually began to disintegrate, tearing away from me on the red carpet. In fact, during some interviews, I mentioned that pieces of it were coming loose.

In a conversation with Access Hollywood at the red carpet event, she candidly mentioned about the vintage appearance: “Absolutely, it’s quite antique. It seems to tear or break quite often. Believe me, it does.

‘It’s like, I’m like tacked…’ she began to say as one of her sleeves slipped down her shoulder.

I playfully quipped, “I think I’ll shed this old yet lovely garment,” highlighting its age and charm.

In spite of the wardrobe issue, the evening remained unforgettable due to a different factor – the esteemed performer won the “Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie” category for her role in The Dropout, adding another accolade to her impressive collection.

On her second visit to the stage, to collect the award for Best Limited Series with the entire cast, Seyfried chose to don a sleek black leather jacket over her high-end outfits as a cautious fashion move.
