Amanda Holden Reveals ‘I Died’ After Traumatic Childbirth Experience
Amanda Holden bravely held back her tears while discussing with Alan Carr the events that led to her falling into a coma and experiencing what seemed like death, following the birth of her daughter Hollie in 2012.
54-year-old judge from Britain’s Got Talent appeared on BBC One again, this time for a fresh installment of Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Renovation Project. In this series, she and 48-year-old comedian Alan Carr aim to transform dilapidated homes in Spain.
In the latest installment, the pair could be spotted relaxing with a bottle of Cava following a hectic workday, pondering over their personal experiences.
Gazing out at the breathtaking panorama from my perched camper chair, I couldn’t help but feel humbled. ‘It’s awe-inspiring to behold vistas as vast as this; it truly puts life’s complexities into a clearer perspective.’
As a deeply devoted admirer, I shared her sentiments: ‘Whenever we lose someone precious, doesn’t one instinctively feel they’ve moved to another place? Although I’m not overly spiritual, I can’t help but think that our parting isn’t the final chapter.’
In the year 2012, Amanda welcomed her second child, a girl, with music producer Chris Hughes. This experience came close to claiming her life.

The morning radio host on Heart Breakfast candidly shared an experience where she had been medically declared deceased shortly following the birth of her daughter Hollie, who is now 12 years old.
She shared: ‘Though not overly dramatic, Hollie’s birth was extremely challenging for me, leading to a comatose state. In essence, I experienced death.’
As a relentless enthusiast, I found myself in an intense care unit, with my precious newborn miraculously unscathed. When I regained consciousness and realized everything was back to normal, a profound preoccupation with mortality took hold of me – a haunting awareness of how effortlessly and intimately it can linger nearby.
Alan gave a nod of understanding, and Amanda remarked, “Life is incredibly valuable; it can vanish unexpectedly swiftly.
She exclaimed, “Savor each moment!” she did, prior to Alan presenting her with another glass of Cava.
The actress then lightened the mood by letting out a humorous burp, giggling through an apology.
Amanda Holden has two daughters: Alexa, 18, and Hollie, with her husband Chris.
In 2003, she met Chris in Los Angeles. They started dating a year later, and in 2008, they tied the knot.

Lately, Amanda enjoyed a high-quality bonding session with Hollie during their opulent family vacation to Barbados last February.
In one photograph, the star was absolutely stunning, as she casually posed with her youngest child during their boat excursion.
In yet another captivating photograph, Amanda exuded a luminous glow while donning a stylish khaki blouse featuring a deep neckline. She gracefully struck a pose for the camera without a hint of strain.
To finish off her ensemble, Amanda added bold gold-hued accessories from Soru Jewellery and sported a glowing spectrum of cosmetics.
In the next photo, the celebrity briefly exposed her deep neckline in a vibrant patterned bikini set with a matching cover-up.
She accessorised further with a gold Athena necklace and stunning chunky gold statement earrings.

Following Amanda’s comeback for the eighteenth season of Britain’s Got Talent, I eagerly tuned in to catch a glimpse of the renowned variety contest.
Since the show’s debut in 2007, the Heart FM radio personality has consistently been a member of the judging committee, and there’s no indication that she plans to decrease her pace.
Amidst my whirlwind schedule, I, Amanda, am skillfully juggling Britain’s Got Talent, my morning gig on Heart Breakfast, and my thriving partnership with the hilarious Alan Carr. It’s a busy life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
They have produced and starred in three seasons of their real estate TV show, “Property Job”, and jointly hosted the annual Royal Variety Show the previous year.
But, a recent change to the BGT format means Amanda’s schedule is even more packed.
The show will now run for an impressive four months, with new episodes airing weekly.
On any given Saturday, I prioritize my commitment to the show above all else, which means that, like me, Amanda and our esteemed judges – Simon Cowell, Aleshsa Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli – often have to forgo our personal weekend plans in order to fully devote ourselves to this shared passion.
Britain’s Got Talent will return Saturday on ITV and ITVX at 7pm.
