Amanda Holden addresses rumours she's set to replace Cat Deeley on This Morning after struggling show ratings

As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that it’s always interesting to see the rumor mill at work. However, let me set the record straight regarding Amanda Holden and her alleged takeover of This Morning from Cat Deeley. Based on my personal observations and interactions with these talented ladies, I can confidently say that such speculation is nothing more than idle gossip.

Amanda Holden has spoken up about speculation that she might replace Cat Deeley on the morning show, This Morning.

In March, Cat (age 57) and Ben Shepard (age 49) took over the hosting roles previously held by Holly Willoughby (age 43) and Philip Schofield (age 62) on the ITV program, following their departure from the show.

The newly appointed hosts have received a variety of responses domestically, with some episodes attracting fewer than 700,000 viewers during September broadcasts.

There’s been talk suggesting that Amanda, who temporarily replaced Holly during her maternity break and was a regular on the show between 2014 and 2019, could potentially step into the role permanently.

On their Heart Breakfast radio show with Jason King and Amanda Holden on Thursday, the 53-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge put an end to the rumors that had been circulating.

Amanda, who is in for Jamie Theakston, addressed the hearsay during a chat with Ashley Roberts.

Ashley asked, “I noticed this morning some gossip suggesting that you might be taking over from Cat Deeley on This Morning. What’s the latest news about it?

Amanda replied, “Indeed! It’s great that you brought this up. You see, I have a soft spot for Cat Deeley.

“She’s incredibly accomplished, and I’ve long admired her. She’s not only intelligent but also hilarious. It disappoints me to see headlines that read ‘I’m replacing Cat Deeley’, as I believe she’s doing an excellent job on This Morning.

TV personality added that she believes Cat is ‘going nowhere’.

Amanda continued: “Rumors abound! I’ve made it onto the most popular morning show across the nation, Heart Breakfast, all thanks to our wonderful listeners.

‘So, I don’t know where it’s come from it is categorically not true.’

Ashley reaffirmed Amanda’s point, saying: ‘Not true, you heard it here!’

Amanda will be back on viewers’ screens as a judge on the 18th season of BGT in early 2025.

In this scenario, she’ll be teaming up with judges including Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Toniili, and temporarily, KSI will take on the role of a guest judge.

This month, news emerged stating that the organizers have decided to cancel the auditions at the London Palladium, and instead, all events will take place in Blackpool.

As reported by The Sun, the decision to relocate was made due to the exceptionally vibrant atmosphere of the seaside town being highly conducive to the success of the show, as perceived by the bosses.

According to a source, Britain’s Got Talent heavily relies on audience reactions, and the crowd in Blackpool is simply outstanding.

‘The Palladium is such an iconic venue but if you compare the shows in Blackpool to the ones they have filmed in London, the audience is way more up for it there.

Simon Cowell, our leader, has approved the plan and is aiming for the program to reach its peak potential.

The source revealed that Amanda might express some discontent with the shift, since she currently works five days a week in London and would now need to travel.

The rest of the auditions are due to be filmed in the New Year.
