Amanda Byram gives fans a glimpse at her home renovations and says she’s feeling ‘slightly overwhelmed’

Amanda Byram shared photos of her stunning home renovations with her followers on Instagram this Friday.

The 52-year-old presenter, famous for co-hosting the show Total Wipeout alongside Richard Hammond, admitted she’s feeling a bit overwhelmed as her home renovation nears completion.

Amanda shared a look inside her home with her 89,000 followers, highlighting features like her unique woodpecker flooring, sleek media wall, and large kitchen. The kitchen opens up to a spacious garden with folding doors.

Amanda shared an update on her little house project, saying they’re nearly finished but it still feels like there’s a ways to go. She joked that the last part of any project always seems to take the most time.

Everything is falling into place, and I’m finally getting a good sense of the overall picture. But honestly, I’m also a bit anxious about what happens next.

‘The finishing touches and decor decisions suddenly feel very big… and there are a lot of them.

Slightly overwhelmed, but mostly just so excited to see it all taking shape.’

Amanda recently shared that she’s a bit nervous about being back on television after a five-year break. She paused her career in 2021 to have her first child and is now preparing for her return.

Good morning, everyone! I’m a little nervous heading to London on the train today for my first filming shoot in nearly five years!

The last time I filmed anything, I was seven months pregnant with my son, Phoenix, for an episode of #FoodUnwrapped. I really didn’t think I’d ever stop working in front of the camera.

I was SO moved when she talked about her IVF journey – it was so brave of her to share that struggle. And then, a second baby boy! It felt like a real miracle, especially because she was 51 when he was born last February. Honestly, I was over the moon for her – it just proves anything is possible!

She shared on Instagram that the journey had been difficult and emotionally draining, but she wouldn’t trade it for anything because it brought her two wonderful sons – one who fills her heart and one who completes her soul.

After a long and challenging path to becoming a mother, she felt she needed to be with her children constantly, even if it meant leaving her beloved job.

After having my first son, I realized I couldn’t bear to be apart from him, even for a moment. It was difficult to step away from something I’d always loved and that had been a big part of who I was for years.

I was always attentive to my first son’s needs – I never skipped a nap, feeding, or waking moment. So, when my second son, Jett, was born, I expected things to go just as smoothly.

She recently felt inspired to return to television after being asked to support a wonderful charity.

A few weeks ago, Comic Relief asked if I’d get involved, and it was an easy yes – it’s such a great charity! Now I’m feeling a little guilty about balancing everything as a mom, but also really happy to be part of this wonderful project.

Jett is still breastfeeding, so I expressed some milk for him – it’s the first time I’ve ever done that! Luckily, his dad is being a huge help, and I know he’ll be okay.

I’m looking forward to a great day and excited to simply relax and be myself for a few hours. Wish me luck! And a huge shout-out to all the moms – both those at home and those working – you’re all amazing and I admire you so much!

The post quickly received an outpouring of support, including messages from many of Amanda’s famous friends.

Presenter Fearne Cotton assured: ‘You’ve got this.’

Gaby Roslin shared her support, saying, ‘You’ve got this! I’m so happy to see you back on television. You’re a fantastic mother and a talented TV personality, and everyone has missed you.’

Caitriona Balfe, known for her role in Outlander, wished someone well, encouraging them to savor the experience and promising warm welcomes upon their return.

Amanda, who has been married to Julian Okines since 2016, recently shared more details about her IVF experience online. She explained that becoming a mother was so important to her, she prioritized it above all else to make it happen.

We’ve been trying to have a baby for a long time, and it’s been incredibly difficult. We’ve experienced the pain of hope turning into disappointment, joy quickly followed by sadness, and the stress of balancing this private struggle with work, friendships, and everyday life.

Amanda revealed back in 2015 that she worried she’d waited too long to have children, as she preferred to meet the right partner first.

She explained that women have different paths they can take. They might choose to go it alone, partner with someone even if they’re unsure, or wait for what feels like the perfect match – though she added that waiting might mean missing out on opportunities.

We’ve been together for a year and a half, and I’m in good health. Honestly, what happens next is out of my control – we’ll just have to wait and see.
