Amanda Abbington gushes over ‘incredible’ Giovanni Pernice in a resurfaced video posted shortly before Strictly ‘bullying’ storm

As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I find myself intrigued by the complexities of human relationships, especially when they unfold in the public eye like the Amanda Abbington-Giovanni Pernice saga.

A resurfaced video has emerged of Amanda Abbington praising Giovanni Pernice, shortly before she made a series of bullying claims about him. 

Last October during the sixth week, the actress, who was 50 at the time, departed from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. Later on, she alleged that her dance partner, Mr. Pernice, had engaged in unacceptable behavior.

Previously known as a professional from Strictly, aged 34, most of the accusations leveled against him by the celebrity were dismissed. However, six charges were found to be valid, and he is currently focusing on his future career endeavors.

Meanwhile, a previously unseen video emerged showing the actress from Sherlock Holmes expressing her admiration for Mr. Pernice’s exceptional dance choreography abilities during a practice session at the studio.

In the video, the actress portraying Sherlock Holmes can be observed sitting in a car, passionately discussing her dance performance, and praising Pernice’s innovative style as ‘stunning’.

In her parked vehicle as she collected her kids, Joe (age 18) and Grace (age 16), Ms. Abbington chatted about her busy day involving costume adjustments, sunless tanning sessions, and media meetings.

She commented, “We need to watch ourselves since both Giovanni and I tend to use strong language quite frequently. Our inappropriate banter often leaves us in stitches.

Ms Abbington went on saying, “We performed our dance for the first time in the studio, doing it thrice for the cameras. I am deeply fond of our dance; it’s truly a stunning creation.

Giovanni is simply fantastic as a choreographer, and he never fails to amaze me. What he has crafted is truly beautiful, in my opinion. Needless to say, we are both thrilled about it.

Initially, it seemed like Ms. Abbington was getting along well with Mr. Penice on Strictly Come Dancing. However, unexpectedly, she decided to withdraw from the competition during week six, explaining her departure by mentioning personal matters.

Immediately following her exit, she started bringing forward accusations towards Mr. Pernice, claiming he had verbally abused her and engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior during their practice sessions.

In relation to the allegations, the BBC found Pernice not guilty of any physical abuse against Ms. Abbington. However, they did sustain six out of seventeen other complaints brought against him.

During her interview on BBC’s Newsnight program, Ms Abbington claimed that two of the validated complaints involved instances of inappropriate, sexually suggestive behavior.

Ms Abbington asserted that the previous Strictly professional might have inadvertently revealed an unwanted physical response during their Strictly Come Dancing practice sessions.

She shared with the show: “Whenever I executed a dance step correctly, he would subtly indicate an excitement in his pants and compliment me, saying that was the result of my perfect dance move.

Ms Abbington described the experience as an ‘ongoing litany’ of verbal abuse and sexual misconduct.

This past month, Ms Abbington shared her sense of relief upon discovering a potential cancer diagnosis as it allowed her departure from Strictly Come Dancing and her partnership with Mr Pernice.

In an interview with the sun, the actress shared that she found two bumps in her breast on the day she left Strictly.

During my last week, on a Thursday morning while taking a shower, I discovered two unusual masses. A few months prior, I had received a clean bill of health following a mammogram examination.

During rehearsals, Ms. Abbington admitted that she found it difficult to focus while practicing the cha-cha-cha with Mr. Pernice, who allegedly said she was struggling and of no help.

She mentioned that her dance partner had avoided looking at her, prior to disclosing that she had discovered two lumps and needed to miss rehearsals for a hospital visit, ultimately deciding to exit the production.

As I embark on an exciting new chapter, I’m thrilled to share that my dear friend and dancing partner, Anton Du Beke, and I have planned a 2025 dance tour together. Here’s to the future and the rhythm we’ll create!

In the summer, Abbington reappeared on stage, playing a leading role in the production titled “When It Happens to You.” Additionally, she made various television appearances during this time to share insights about her time on Strictly.
