Allison Williams is joined on rare red carpet with disgraced anchor father Brian
On a seldom-seen red carpet event, Allison Williams was accompanied by her ex-NBC anchor father, Brian Williams, ten years following his suspension over fabricating tales about surviving an RPG attack during the Iraq War.
At the debut of her latest movie, M3gan 2.0, the actress, aged 37, turned it into a family occasion. She’s back in the role of Gemma, which she played in the 2022 blockbuster thriller M3gan, and interestingly enough, she was also the producer for both films.
On a starry Tuesday night in the heart of New York City, I couldn’t help but find myself beaming brightly amidst the glitz and glamour of Bad Roman. There I was, standing side by side with my beloved idol, my 66-year-old hero, before the magical start of the screening.
Williams was seen wearing a striking hot-pink maxi dress on the red carpet, which concealed her footwear for the night.
Her red, wavy hair cascaded down below her shoulders while she adorned herself with golden bracelets at the movie premiere.
Her famous father Brian Williams stepped out with a light blue dress shirt under a black suit coat.

He finished off his outfit by wearing black trousers and black dress shoes, as he accompanied his daughter and wife, Jane Stoddard Williams.
In 2004, Brian took over the esteemed role of NBC News anchor from Tom Brokaw, maintaining this prestigious position until his suspension in 2015. This occurred after he was found to have fabricated a story about experiencing enemy fire while in a helicopter during the Iraq War.
Further examination revealed that he had also given false accounts regarding his coverage of various events, resulting in him being terminated from his position.
He eventually left NBC in November 2021 after 28 years.
Simultaneously, the initial M3gan movie focused on Gemma (Williams), a robotics expert, who found herself caring for her niece Cady (Violet McGraw) following an unfortunate car accident that claimed the lives of Cady’s parents, leaving her as Gemma’s charge.
In her off-hours, Gemma crafted the miniature robot named M3gan (Model 3 Generative Android), apart from her regular work. Eventually, M3gan formed a connection with the child, Cady.
Initially considered a success, the M3gan doll unexpectedly forms a violent bond with Cady, reminiscent of a protective parental attachment.
In January 2023, the Blumhouse thriller was unveiled, a period typically known as a burial ground for movies that don’t fare well at the box office. However, against all expectations, M3gan turned out to be a massive success.

The movie earned approximately $95.1 million within the U.S. and a total of $180 million globally, all on a modest production budget of only $12 million.
After the theft of M3gan’s programming by a defense contractor, they received approval for a follow-up, resulting in a new military robot named Amelia.
In the sequel, we find Williams reprising her role as Gemma, a character who, following the events of the initial movie, has transitioned into an accomplished author and crusader against AI technology.
In the ensemble, we have Williams joining again, accompanied by Violet McGraw, Brian Jordan Alvarez portraying Cole, and Jen Van Epps taking on the role of Tess.

In the next installment, it’s Gerald Johnstone, the original director of M3gan, who takes the helm. He wrote the script for this movie, which is a story he co-created with Akela Cooper, the original M3gan screenwriter.
The film is scheduled for release on June 27, going up against Brad Pitt’s new racing film F1.
This weekend, both movies are anticipated to open at the box office within the $30 million range, but there’s a slight favoritism towards Film 1, with estimates suggesting it could earn between $35 million and $40 million.
