All the crime dramas coming to BritBox in September 2024
As a seasoned gamer of crime dramas and a connoisseur of British television, I must say that BritBox has become my go-to platform for my weekly fix of gritty, suspenseful, and often heart-wrenching mysteries. The upcoming releases this week are nothing short of exciting, and I can hardly contain my enthusiasm!
As a die-hard fan of crime dramas, I can hardly contain my excitement! Unlike having to wait till the end of September for my favorite broadcast shows to come back, BritBox is keeping me entertained with fresh content this very week!
BritBox offers an ideal sanctuary for top-notch British crime series. These productions delve deeply into the grim and ominous side of life, leaving no one exempt from danger. For those who favor a more whimsical approach, there are delightful options reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s tales.
Not sure what to watch? Here’s a look at some notable releases and the full list of crime dramas.
Trigger Point, Des, and more
If you’re a fan of true crime stories and appreciate David Tennant’s acting, you should definitely give the series “Des” a watch. This drama chronicles the life of Dennis Nilsen, also known as the “gentle killer,” who spent five years brutally murdering young men he encountered on the streets of Soho. He would win their trust and friendship, only to ultimately take them back to his home where he committed the horrific acts.
The three-part documentary chronicles the journey of the investigation into missing individuals, eventually focusing on a five-year manhunt for Nilsen. Upon his capture in 1983, it was revealed that he had taken the lives of 15 men and boys, making him one of the most active serial killers during that era.
For those preferring a touch of fantasy, the second season of “Trigger Point” will debut on Thursday, September 5th. Every week, you’ll get to watch two episodes as we follow Lana Washington through a fresh investigation. After an absence of six months, she returns to tackle the repercussions from last season and encounters a new terror threat that may prove more perilous than the one in her previous case!
As the month winds down, I’m super pumped to dive back into the gripping world of “The Bay” on BritBox with Season 5. This time around, Morecambe’s MIU team is tackling a fresh mystery. A 23-year-old named Hannah has been found dead near the docks, and the student populace is simmering with anger. But as we dig deeper, it seems Hannah might not have been entirely truthful about herself. The stakes are high, and I can’t wait to unravel the secrets that lie ahead!
