All the Celebrity Traitors drama you DIDN’T see on Behind-the-scenes feuds, brutal clashes and a contestant who claimed production removed a ‘basic human right’

After four weeks of intense drama, lies, and shocking betrayals, The Celebrity Traitors will finally reveal its ultimate winner in a grand finale on Thursday.

The UK version of the show, featuring a cast of well-known faces, quickly became a national obsession, with about 25% of adults watching each episode. Hosts Alan Carr, Cat Burns, and Jonathan Ross (who has since been eliminated) worked together to decide who would be ‘the traitor’.

We’ve seen plenty of memorable memes over the years, like the image of Alan in a cloak and Kate Garraway’s excited comment, ‘Maybe someone has been recruited!’

Joe Marler has surprisingly become a popular choice, and people were very upset when Stephen Fry had to withdraw.

It was impossible to know how the show would go, but before it aired, many of the celebrities’ publicists were worried about how their clients would be portrayed, as the BBC had decided not to share the final edited version with them beforehand.

According to the Daily Mail, the show’s creators were surprised by how many people wanted to preview early cuts of the program. They received a huge number of requests.

It’s obvious the celebrities returned from filming and have told their staff they’re worried about how they might appear during the show’s arguments and conflicts.

You know, from what I’ve observed, a lot of the drama and tension really happens behind the scenes, not when they’re actually filming. It’s often the stuff that doesn’t make the final cut that causes the biggest issues.

The series’ biggest shock happened immediately: Alan unexpectedly killed his close friend, Paloma Faith, in front of everyone.

In the second episode of the BBC show, the singer died without ever knowing who killed her.

Despite appearing calm publicly, Alan recently shared that the 44-year-old pregnant singer was actually very upset about being the first person targeted. He also mentioned they are no longer on speaking terms.

During a conversation on his ‘Life’s A Beach’ podcast with DJ Norman Cook (also known as Fatboy Slim), comedian David Walliams jokingly claimed he was ‘killing people,’ explaining he particularly enjoyed ‘killing’ Paloma Faith, who apparently wasn’t amused.

When Norman asked, ‘Aren’t you mates with Paloma?’, Alan replied, ‘Well, I was…’

Paloma also made her feelings clear on The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked podcast.

Ed Gamble tried to explain Alan’s actions, acknowledging it was a tough call, but Paloma felt he was being too forgiving. She pointed out that she would have reacted differently, saying she wouldn’t have touched Alan’s face if she were in the same situation.

He definitely had a choice to make, and while it might have been the simplest thing to do, I didn’t think it was a kind thing to do.

Alan has said Paloma has made it very clear to him that she was hurt by his betrayal in the series.

Let me tell you, I recently had a really bizarre conversation. Someone was upset with me, accusing me of betrayal and saying a true friend wouldn’t have ‘done what I did.’ Honestly, it was a little dramatic! I had to remind them – and maybe state the obvious – that I am the Traitor! It’s literally in the show’s title, ‘The Traitors’! The whole point is that I’m supposed to be doing exactly that – betraying people. It’s all part of the game, you know?

She’s made a few TikToks about me supposedly letting her down by revealing her identity publicly.

Honestly, I was so thrilled to hear he was taking her out! He’s clearly head over heels – he said he loves her and thinks she’s amazing. But he also admitted he was a bit scared about being the first one eliminated on the show, and that’s why he panicked. It’s just so sweet and relatable, even with all the drama!

Alan didn’t acknowledge Paloma’s pregnancy announcement last month, even after she shared the news on Instagram.

It appears Paloma and the other person decided to end their disagreement around Halloween. Paloma shared an old, funny video from when they used to celebrate Halloween together, suggesting they’re trying to make amends.

In the video, Alan was wearing a blue dress that looked like it was made for a doll. Paloma then asked him, “Alan, what happened? What did my daughter do to you?”

Honestly, I was shocked to hear this story! A man told me someone actually threw a slug at him, and then, unbelievably, set a rat on him! He’s understandably upset and has reported it to the police, believing it constitutes a hate crime. It’s a truly bizarre and disturbing situation.

Paloma shared the video clip and playfully referenced Alan’s fictional killing of her character, writing: ‘No regrets @chattyman! Happy Halloween throwback.’

Alan seemed to take the situation in good humor, sharing the clip on his Instagram Story with the caption: ‘Haha! I think we’re even now!’

Alan responded strongly to criticism that he wasn’t being genuine on the show, defending himself after being closely watched and judged by viewers.

He shared that he saw a clip of a psychologist on the radio who predicted he wouldn’t succeed on the show, claiming he was playing a character rather than being himself, Alan Carr.

Alan strongly disagreed with the accusation, saying, ‘That’s a bold claim, especially since I’ve never even met her. It’s amazing how many people feel the need to share their thoughts!’

He also mentioned he’d been looking at fan theories online, finding them strange but enjoyable to read.

He added that when your show is so popular, constant scrutiny is just part of the deal.

I’ve been feeling really loved and supported lately, which has given me a lot of energy. Plus, I’m enjoying all the funny memes I keep seeing online.

Paloma wasn’t alone in her anger at being killed; actress Ruth Codd was also upset after Jonathan murdered her character.

Ruth famously delivered the line, ‘Don’t tell me it’s raining while you’re peeing in my ear,’ but later suffered consequences from the network as a result.

As a huge fan, I was shocked to hear from a source close to the show that Ruth was absolutely devastated when her character was killed off so early in the filming process. Apparently, she was really angry about it.

‘She called Jonathan a “f***ing snake” and really let go of her anger behind the scenes.

Ruth was clearly frustrated because her fellow players didn’t seem to be taking her seriously after she accurately pointed out Jonathan was a Traitor.

Ruth believed most of the celebrities weren’t being themselves, and that affected how fairly the game was played.

It was tragic that she was killed during the competition, especially since she clearly had so much potential.

However Jonathan has since addressed the feud, there is no ‘beef’ between him and Ruth.

On his podcast, Reel Talk, Jonathan shared that he got along with everyone present.

It’s natural that people leave events at different times, which means you don’t have the same amount of time with everyone. For example, I didn’t get to spend much time with Niko Omilana or Ruth, as they left earlier in the evening.

I’ve talked to both of them recently, and while our lives have changed, we were definitely friendly when we first met, so there are no hard feelings. I’m hopeful we could become friends in the future.

Lucy Beaumont took to social media after her murder as she branded the traitors ‘b******s’.

She confessed she hadn’t watched the show until now, but now she’ll have to catch up with the last few episodes to see what happens after her character’s exit.

The comedian posted on Instagram to let her followers know she was eliminated on tonight’s episode of ‘Traitors’.

She admitted she hadn’t watched any of the show yet, jokingly saying, ‘They killed me off! Seriously, though, I’m going to start watching now.’

‘There’s two episodes left, and I am going to put my input in – I don’t know what happens either.’

The Daily Mail reported that Stephen had a heated argument with historian David Olusoga, but this footage wasn’t included in the final broadcast.

They had a heated argument about who had betrayed the group, and it caused a major falling out, leaving both of them very angry.

People familiar with Stephen were surprised by how passionately he spoke during the debate, but it highlighted how committed both he and David were to making the series.

Okay, so I’m hearing from sources close to the show that Stephen and David had a really intense clash. Apparently, they were both convinced the other was the ‘Traitor,’ and things got pretty heated as they accused each other. It’s definitely creating some drama!

‘They were so invested in the game, and it really showed during their debates.

Some cast members were surprised by the disagreement between the two, and it quickly became a hot topic of conversation on set.

Viewers likely won’t see all the conversations between contestants on Celebrity Traitors. Producers decided some discussions didn’t fit with the show’s main storyline, and many side conversations were ultimately cut.

It’s funny, but Stephen and David weren’t actually betrayers, so their argument was completely pointless – it was just one of those silly things that happen in the game.

A representative for the Traitors stated that reports of any disagreement between Stephen Fry and David Olusoga away from the show were false.

Finalist Nick Mohammad shared that things got very tense behind the scenes when one contestant became upset about not being allowed something they considered essential.

The comedian said he loved being on the show, but explained that the contestants are cut off from the outside world, which created some difficulties.

In an interview on The Comedian’s Comedian Podcast with Stuart Goldsmith, Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis described a challenging experience where he was completely cut off from contact with the outside world. He explained that all his devices were taken away, and he was limited to just one phone call per day to speak with his children.

Oh my gosh, it was insane! They wouldn’t tell us the actual time, ever. We’d be sitting there in the castle, totally disoriented, and ask, “What time is it?” And the producers would just smirk and say, “It’s Traitors time!” It was so messed up, but honestly, it just added to the whole atmosphere. I lived for those moments!

Nick didn’t say which player was most upset, but he explained that everyone on set had to respond to all questions with a placeholder answer until someone protested, arguing that being able to simply tell the time was a basic right and shouldn’t be restricted.
