All teams qualified for the RLCS 2025 Raleigh Major
Following the completion of three preliminary tournaments, we find ourselves with 16 teams advancing to the second major event of Rocket League’s season 2025. Who among these stands as the most likely contenders for victory?
In essence, the esports scene of Rocket League has attained a level of unquestionable dominance by certain regional teams. Consequently, open qualifiers can become predictable as upsets are infrequent, while top teams often secure their qualification spots with little effort due to their overwhelming superiority.
Contrarily, international tournaments in Rocket League Championship Series 2025 (RLCS 2025) have turned out to be remarkably thrilling! It’s as if every region is sending their top-tier players, the real titans, to clash during these LAN events. What transformations have they undergone in the past few months?
As a devoted esports enthusiast, let me share my exhilarating experience at the Birmingham Major! While Karmine Corp’s dominance was undeniable en route to their triumph, the tournament offered a plethora of thrilling matches where the outcomes were anything but predictable.
Will the RLCS 2025 Raleigh Major live up to the hype and possibly surpass it? To find out, let’s explore the journeys of each qualified team so far, delve into their potential for success at the event, and predict who might emerge victorious.
All Rocket League teams at the RLCS 2025 Raleigh Major
7 areas took part in the RLCS 2025 Split 2. This season aimed at achieving two main objectives: securing a spot for the Raleigh Major event and advancing towards the Rocket League 2025 World Championship.
Before the year’s major event even arrives, we already know which 16 teams will be competing. These teams will face off in an arena located in Raleigh, North Carolina, from June 26th through June 29th.
Region | Qualified teams |
---|---|
North America | NRG; Spacestation Gaming; Gen.G Mobil1 Racing; The Ultimates; |
Europe | Karmine Corp; Dignitas; Team Vitality; Gentle Mates Alpine |
Middle East & North Africa | Team Falcons; Twisted Minds |
South America | FURIA; Team Secret |
Oceania | Wildcard; TSM |
Asia-Pacific | Virtus.pro (former Luminosity roster) |
Sub-Saharan Africa | FUT Esports |
In general, we can see mainly the same teams as at the Birmingham Major. The changes are scarce:
- Spacestation Gaming makes it from the NA region instead of Complexity Gaming.
- Gentle Mates Alpine qualified from Europe instead of Geekay Esports. M8 earned 6 points more in Split 2.
- TSM from Oceania left Helfie Chiefs with no qualification spot this time.
Road to the Rocket League esports Raleigh Major
In simpler terms, the initial rounds of the RLCS 2025 (Rocket League Championship Series) are expansive, offering potential opportunities for every regional team. However, in practice, we often observe the same elite players advancing to the latter stages and even claiming tournament victories.
Generally speaking, the script applied to all areas within Split 2, but there were also some unexpected turns of events that occurred.
North America
In the RLCS 2025 NA Open 4, NRG‘s performance was a bit unstable, yet they managed to clinch victory in that tournament and the subsequent qualifier. This achievement secured them a spot at the Raleigh Major event.
It seems that the lack of motivation from NRG might have been a factor in their elimination at the hands of The Ultimates, with Spacestation Gaming ultimately claiming victory in the final open qualifier of this season.
Despite not achieving groundbreaking outcomes, Gen.G Mobile1 Racing managed to secure a strong position with their second and third place finishes in two separate events, which proved sufficient for the team’s success.
Europe
It was unexpected, but it was Dignitas who stole the show in this area. In Open 5, they outplayed Karmine Corp, the champions of the Birmingham Major and the top-ranked Rocket League esports team in Europe for 2025.
Karmine Corp didn’t let their defeat in the grand final get them down. Winning two other Open qualifiers boosted their confidence and kept their spirits high.
The match between Gentle Mates Alpine and Geekay Esports was incredibly tight, with both teams experiencing highs and lows. It seemed like the M8 players had finally found their footing under their new organization. Geekay Esports ended up in the top 6 at the RLCS 2025 EU Open 4, a position they also held in Open 6. However, the teams they faced on their journey to the Raleigh Major were notably stronger this time around.
Vitality’s team is yet to secure the number one position, but they consistently managed to finish in the top two or three during the season.
Oceania
Remarkable changes unfolded in this particular region, as Wildcard clinched victories in two consecutive tournaments and secured a place at the Raleigh Major ahead of schedule. The struggle for the second position turned out to be an unforgettable spectacle.
It appears that organization PWR may be making a strong comeback, demonstrating impressive outcomes. The Rocket League community is familiar with this group following the RLCS 2024 World Championship, but the roster associated with that success has since been disbanded. There seems to be an air of needing more time for the team to find its footing in higher-ranking regional competitions.
In the Oceania region, TSM and Helfie Chiefs fought for the second spot. The climax of their fierce competition was the Open 8 grand final. Eventually, TSM emerged victorious, thus earning them the right to represent the region at the RLCS Major 2.
South America, Middle East & North Africa, Asia Pacific, and Sub-Saharan Africa
Combining all these regions into a single segment may not accurately depict the real competitive strength of some teams. Nevertheless, the RLCS 2025 Split Open Qualifiers didn’t offer many unexpected outcomes.
Instead of facing other South American teams, FURIA and Team Secret squared off against each other in their matches. Both managed to secure spots for another Major event, and the main headline for Split 2 was that Team Secret emerged victorious in Open 4.
In the region of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), both teams, Team Falcons and Twisted Minds, adopted a similar strategy. Team Falcons emerged victorious in all qualifying rounds, whereas Twisted Minds advanced to the top 3 in Open 5.
FUT Esports consistently rules over the Sub-Saharan African region. Despite Luminosity Gaming’s rebranding to Virtus.pro at the Open 5 tournament, they continue to secure top positions regularly within the Asia Pacific region.
Team to look out for at the Raleigh Major
In this Rocket League esports competition, it’s likely that the most intense clashes will take place among the leading squads hailing from Europe, North America, the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), and South America.
- Karmine Corp and Team Vitality are the favorites of the Raleigh Major. Following their matches is certainly worth your attention.
- NRG is the best US team, and they have a great power at the international event. One extra push is still needed to win.
- The Ultimates were surprisingly strong at the Birmingham Major. They may repeat this success.
- Team Falcons are traditionally among the best in the Rocket League esports world. It would be great to see them finally winning a Major: the energy of motivation is certainly there.
- FURIA is a great team to follow thanks to their fiery emotions: on the Rocket League field and at the arenas. They are usually one step behind the ultimate success, and this can change in Raleigh.
At the RLCS 2025 Raleigh Major, there will be a 1v1 match-up between the champions of the MENA and NA regions. The victor of this encounter earns a spot at the World Finals, where they’ll compete against Mawkzy, who qualified through the 1v1 Birmingham Major.
In the meantime, Rocket League Season 18 is about to wrap up! Hurry and make the most of your opportunities to advance before it concludes on June 18th!
