‘All Her Fault’ Confirms Carrie Kidnaps Milo Because of Their Big Secret Connection

The final episode of Peacock’s thriller, All Her Fault, revealed a surprising connection: Sophia Lillis’ character, Carrie Finch, was responsible for kidnapping Milo Irvine. The series, which also stars Sarah Snook (known from Succession), centers on a mother’s desperate search for her missing son and the lengths she’ll go to in order to find him.

Throughout the eight episodes, Marissa Snook’s life starts to unravel. Her marriage to Peter and her relationships with the rest of her family are severely strained as she discovers the truth behind her son’s kidnapping is far more complex than she initially thought.

I remember being shocked when they revealed Carrie, a nanny of one of Milo’s friends, was involved in his disappearance pretty early in the show, but at first, her motives weren’t clear. Everything clicked in Episode 8, though – that’s when we finally understood why she did it.

You can now watch all eight episodes of the mystery thriller series All Her Fault on Peacock. The show is based on the novel by Andrea Mara and stars Snook – an actress potentially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe – along with Jake Lacy, Sophia Lillis, Abby Elliott, and Dakota Fanning.

Why Carrie Kidnaps Milo In ‘All Her Fault

In the last few minutes of All Her Fault, viewers finally learn the reason behind Carrie’s kidnapping of Milo, Marissa’s son – something fans had been waiting for throughout the previous seven episodes.

During a tense showdown between Marissa, her family, and the nanny who kidnapped Sophia Lillis, long-held secrets are revealed. Carrie exposes her true identity immediately after accidentally shooting and killing Colin, played by Jay Ellis.

Her name isn’t Carrie, but Josephine Murphy. Marissa instantly recognized the name, and a wave of panic crossed her face. It’s a name she hasn’t heard in years—a name belonging to someone she thought was deceased.

Josephine, also known as Carrie, tries to warn Marissa that her son isn’t what he seems. However, before she can explain, Marissa’s husband, Peter, intervenes, subdues Josephine, and unintentionally kills her in the struggle.

Despite this setback, Marissa doesn’t give up on finding out what really happened. She keeps pressing her husband until he finally admits the truth.

Six years before the show begins, Marissa and Peter were in a terrible car crash. Everyone believed the other driver died, but it was actually Carrie (also known as Josephine). While Marissa was seriously injured and lost consciousness, Milo was tragically killed in the accident.

Peter told his wife that Carrie and Milo are actually mother and son, revealing a strong family connection between them.

After the accident, Marissa was unconscious, but Peter found a baby in the other vehicle. Believing Carrie hadn’t survived, he took the baby and pretended he was Milo.

Despite surviving, Carrie was determined to find her son. This drive is immediately apparent in the show’s first episode, where she kidnaps Milo, believing him to be the child who was taken from her.

Now that Carrie is out of the picture and Milo has reunited with Marissa, it seemed like the conflict was resolved. But Snook’s character wasn’t willing to let her husband off so easily. The episode ends with Marissa realizing she can’t trust him, ultimately leading to a deadly outcome: she causes a fatal allergic reaction in her husband as revenge for his past actions.
