Fate Trigger: The Novita currently features ten playable characters: Huxley, Kira, Xiva, Nase, Eos, Soarwynne, Camille, Ryoin, Cynric, and Mindy. Players who participated in the early alpha test experienced a battle royale game mode taking place in the sky.
Here’s a detailed look at the Novita character – including her story, how she plays, and what she can do – provided by Saroasis Studios.
Huxley – Veiled Shade/Veiled Shadow
Huxley’s background and gameplay
Huxley is mysterious and resourceful, a natural-born spy. Anyone who tries to control her will quickly find themselves outsmarted.
Huxley’s abilities
In the Realm of Mist, Awakeners will have their vision clouded, but Huxley will be able to see clearly. The mist conceals the path of the mysterious figure who controls it.
Okay, so I’m really digging Huxley’s second skill, “Mark of Rogue.” Out of all her tech, this one’s her go-to. It’s super useful and easy to use – basically, it highlights her enemies so she can take them down while looking totally awesome. It’s like a beautiful, deadly combination!
Huxley, known for her skillful interrogation techniques, has a special ability called ‘Coup de Grace’. When she defeats a weakened enemy, the locations of the enemy’s teammates are instantly shown to her.
Kira – Starhopper
Kira’s background and Fate Trigger gameplay
The determination to protect something, honed in the virtual world, now extends to a real-life crisis. This time, Kira isn’t simply a gamer – she’s become someone with special abilities, a true hero.
Kira’s abilities
Kira’s first skill, Digital Fortress, lets her build a holographic, two-story fort. Four jump pads around the fort allow quick access to the upper level. Each wall can be destroyed individually. If Kira moves away, the fortress will automatically collapse after a short time.
Kira’s Holo Shield creates a protective barrier made of four independent layers. Each layer can be destroyed individually. Importantly, allies can shoot through the top layer of the shield, and Kira can have up to four of these shields active at the same time.
Kira’s Digital Fortress is her personal sanctuary, providing her with protection and constantly replenishing her energy and defenses.
Xiva – Firestorm/Petrichor Flame
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
The Petrichor Flame will ignite a worldwide conflagration. After that moment, Xiva cast aside all unnecessary feelings, becoming an unwavering and devoted soldier.
Xiva’s abilities
Corvite Storm: Xiva collects Petrichor Flames and creates a fiery storm, raining down meteors on the targeted area for a period of time.
With her ability, Azure Divide, Xiva creates a wall of fiery energy from the ground. This wall blocks enemies’ vision and deals continuous damage to anyone who touches it.
Okay, so Xiva has this awesome skill called Searing Munitions! Basically, she supercharges her Incendiary Rounds and Chip with this special flame, and you can actually see the change – they get a different color! The really cool part is her Incendiary Grenades get a damage boost and slow down anyone they hit. It’s a great way to control the battlefield and deal extra hurt!
Nase – Oceansoul/Sapphire Seafarer
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
Nase, a skilled captain following in her father’s footsteps, is determined to share the healing power of the Green Delphina with everyone. She’s a natural leader, blessed by the sea, and ready to bring hope to the world.
Nase’s abilities
Tide Whisper allows Nase to merge with the ocean, gaining a temporary blessing. If she would take fatal damage while blessed, she instead transforms into water that can move around and slowly heal. In this form, she can’t attack or use any skills, and will eventually return to her normal state.
Okay, so my second skill is called Sharkie Bomb. Basically, I summon this little shark named Sharkie, and he rushes forward, leaving a wet trail behind him. When he either runs into an enemy or gets to the end of his path, he explodes upwards, launching anyone caught in the blast into the air!
Okay, so I’ve unlocked Skill 3, called Ocean’s Providence, for Nase. Basically, she gets faster when she’s moving across water, which is awesome. But here’s the really cool part: the trails left behind by her abilities also give my whole squad a speed boost while they’re on the water! It’s a great way to get around quickly and keep everyone together.
Eos – Luminary/Light Whisperer
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
Driven by her knowledge of science and a commitment to truth, Eos is determined to overcome any obstacle. A brilliant physicist specializing in light, she’s now embarked on a quest to find her closest friend.
Eos’ abilities
Eos’s first skill, Diffraction, lets her gather Source Energy using her prosthetics and channel it into a powerful beam. Holding down the fire button unleashes the beam, which deals significant damage to enemies directly in its path. The beam will also automatically target and damage nearby enemies, though with reduced effect. While Diffraction is active, Eos can freely switch between using her regular weapons and firing the energy beam.
Lightshift allows Eos to turn into a beam of light and move forward incredibly fast.
Eos has an ability called Chronoflash. Whenever she defeats an enemy, she recovers energy and her Tactical ability becomes available again immediately.
Soarwynne – Wind Ranger
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
Soarwynne, a Forest Guard, flies above valleys and jungles with the courage and loyalty of a Duskfalcon. She dedicates her life to protecting the connection between people and the natural world.
Soarwynne’s abilities
Soarwynne’s ability, ‘To the Skies,’ uses Source Energy to create a powerful gust of wind that lifts everyone nearby high into the air.
Soarwynne’s Skyward Leap allows her to jump incredibly high, using the power of the wind. Holding the ability button longer charges it up, boosting her even higher into the air.
Soarwynne’s Updraft skill lets her control the wind to soften her landings, making her more nimble and briefly increasing her movement speed.
Camille – Creation 02
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
Getting the artificial heart she’d always wanted turned out to be only the beginning. Originally designated as Created 02, she decided to give herself a human name: Camille.
Camille’s abilities
Camille’s first ability, Source Sanctuary, creates a small, energy-charged zone using a teleportation device. Allies within the zone gain continuous Source Energy and Armor. Other allies can teleport into the zone, but their movement speed is temporarily slowed during the teleport.
Camille’s second ability, Source Transfusion, lets her restore Source Energy and Armor to a teammate. If no teammate is chosen, she heals herself instead.
As a Camille player, I love her Skill 3, Remote Connection! It lets me link up with my teammates’ GenLinks and basically send them energy from afar. It’s a huge help for keeping everyone’s Resonance up, even if they’re way across the map. It’s a lifesaver in team fights!
Ryoin – Bloodprowler
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
You can’t hold a wild spirit down. Even if Ryoin is chained and hurting, he’ll never give up – he’ll fight to the very end.
Ryoin’s abilities
Okay, so Ryoin’s first skill, Red Nightfall, is awesome. Basically, he turns into a wolf! When he does, he automatically gets this quick dash ability called Bestial Dash. His usual tactical move changes into a really long leap, but it eats into how long he can stay in wolf form. The cool part is, every time he knocks someone down or takes them out while he’s a wolf, he gets to stay transformed for even longer! It really rewards aggressive play, which I love.
Ryoin activates Bestial Dash, which drains energy while active. This ability provides a small boost to regular running speed and a large boost to sprinting speed.
Okay, so Ryoin has this cool skill called ‘On the Scent’. Basically, if one of my teammates hurts an enemy, I can actually track them – I’ll know where they are until they get healed. It’s like a built-in radar for wounded targets, which is awesome for finishing off enemies or knowing where the fight’s going!
Cynric – Crystalscar
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
Cynric desperately wanted to be rid of the curse that held him captive. But he ultimately realized the true source of his imprisonment wasn’t the crystals on his skin, but the emotional barriers he’d built within himself.
Cynric’s abilities
Cynric’s ‘Grand Entrance’ ability lets him jump to a teammate and quickly form a protective, see-through pillar that stops all incoming damage and projectiles. When he lands, he pushes nearby enemies away and slows their movement speed.
Cynric’s ‘Impenetrable’ ability creates a strong, see-through blue shield using the Kydrite. This shield completely stops all incoming damage and thrown objects, and it’s impossible to destroy.
Cynric can use his Kydrite ability to create a protective shield around himself and any nearby allies who have fallen in battle.
Mindy – Lootracer
Character background and Fate Trigger gameplay
Mindy is always on the lookout for treasure. She doesn’t let any dangers stop her – she’s far too determined!
Mindy’s abilities
Mindy has a special ability called ‘Dimensional Doorway.’ She can intercept supply drops leaving the Logistics Center and instantly teleport them to wherever the squad needs them. These drops contain better equipment and supplies than the squad currently has.
Mindy has a skill called Secret Passage that lets her instantly teleport to a chosen spot using a Dimensional Doorway. When she teleports, other players nearby will be able to see the path she takes.
Mindy has a special ability called Mindy’s Choice. It lets her see valuable items – those that are blue quality or better – even if they’re hidden behind obstacles, as long as they’re within her range. If Mindy isn’t carrying two weapons, she can also see weapons with this ability.
