All Creatures Great and Small actor responds to fan-favourite character return
As a dedicated fan who has journeyed through the picturesque landscapes of Yorkshire alongside the beloved characters of All Creatures Great and Small, I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear that Callum Woodhouse, our very own Tristan Farnon, will continue gracing our screens in the Dales. After a brief hiatus, his return this season was like a warm, comforting hug on a chilly Yorkshire evening.
The actor who plays Tristan Farnon on All Creatures Great and Small, Callum Woodhouse, has announced that his character won’t be leaving the Yorkshire Dales.
Following a hiatus during the fourth season and its holiday special on Channel 5, Woodhouse made his comeback earlier this year for the fifth season of the show. In an interview with RadioTimes, he expressed that he intends to remain a permanent fixture.
I can’t wait to continue gracing the halls of Skeldale for some time! It’s truly heartwarming to be reunited with this wonderful family once more, not forgetting Siegfried, who seems just as thrilled as I am about my prolonged presence here.
He has discovered his perfect fit in his teaching role. It appears he is thoroughly enjoying this work and continues to feel that he’s making a difference, even though he’s no longer directly involved in combat. Thus, his path has come full circle in a satisfying manner.
woodhouse, known for his role in “The Durrells”, went on to say that filming for the previously confirmed sixth season will start in February. He also mentioned that plans can always be flexible and subject to change based on the hints we’ve received so far.
He mentioned that we might not receive our scripts for a while. Typically, they arrive at the beginning of the year, so let’s enjoy Christmas first and then we’ll find out about our plans for next time. Keep in mind, things could still change after that point.
In other words, when you encounter these hints or suggestions, it’s best not to treat them as absolute facts. Instead, keep an open mind since circumstances can always evolve or alter your plans until the actual event takes place.
As the actor prepares for additional episodes, Woodhouse expressed gratitude for the heartfelt support he received from fans upon his comeback. He described the messages as “extremely touching” and “energizing as a performer”.
He also mentioned, “It’s truly heartening to learn that folks connect with and genuinely appreciate the character you portray, as well as the unique qualities you contribute.” He continued, “So, it was quite delightful to hear that, and I’m glad Tristan will continue to bring happiness to others.
All Creatures Great and Small airs on Channel 5.
