A new streaming service in the UK now features the 2024 series Fallen, based on a popular young adult novel. The show, which originally aired on AMC in the US, centers on Luce, a 17-year-old played by Jessica Alexandre, who finds herself unexpectedly involved in a long-standing, mysterious love triangle with no recollection of how it began.
This romantic fantasy series, now streaming on ITVX in the UK, is based on Lauren Kate’s 2009 novel. The story begins with Luce Price, a teenager sent to the strict Sword and Cross reform school after committing an unknown offense.
While she’s there, she unexpectedly feels a strong connection to two boys, Daniel Grigori (played by Gijs Blom) and Cameron ‘Cam’ Briel (played by Timothy Innes). The trailer suggests they all share a past together.

This book is a thrilling and passionate romantasy novel exploring themes of forbidden love, religion, and reincarnation. It’s been praised for being both exciting and deeply romantic.
Before becoming a TV series, the novel was first made into a 2016 film starring Addison Timlin, Jeremy Irvine, and Harrison Gilbertson, with Joely Richardson also appearing in the cast.
What to Read Next
The TV series, created by Rachel Paterson, Roland Moore, and Claudia Blumemhuber, is adapted from the first book in Kate’s series. Though it doesn’t yet have a Rotten Tomatoes score, critics have highlighted the strong connection between actors Alexander and Blom, who play Luce and Daniel (according to The Mary Sue).

Viewers have given the series Fallen a rating of 6.6 out of 10 on IMDb, based on over 3,000 reviews, and many are hoping it will be renewed for another season.
A viewer praised the show as a truly captivating supernatural series, noting its well-developed, complex characters and emotionally resonant scenes. They said it was one of the best they’d seen in years.
One viewer pointed out that the TV show offers a fresh take on Kate’s novel. The show features Josefine Koenig as Arriane Alter, Sarah Niles playing both Miriam and Sophia, and Alexander Siddig as Howson.
There’s currently no news about whether the Fallen series will continue, even though the author planned for five additional books.
Fallen is streaming on ITVX in the UK.
