All 2XKO game modes

2XKO offers standard fighting game modes. Get familiar with the controls, practice your skills, and then challenge your friends to a fight!

2XKO is a fighting game with a twist – it’s inspired by tag-team fighters. Instead of one-on-one battles, it features 2v2 matches where you can control both characters on your team. Given this unique setup, what game modes does 2XKO offer?

While the game itself offers a unique experience, its game modes will feel instantly recognizable. You’ll easily understand how to play them.

Every game mode in 2XKO

Riot’s League of Legends fighting game has significantly expanded its variety of game modes since the initial Alpha Lab release, with its full global launch. Players hope the developers continue adding features, as there are still some key elements missing.

Casual fights in 2XKO

Every fighting game has this mode, and it’s not too different in 2XKO.

You can practice against other players online in matches that don’t impact your rank. These fights are a great way to get better at the game and learn how it works.

2XKO’s online matches are similar to many modern games, featuring lobbies where players are represented by avatars. It’s a great way to connect with others! Find an open arcade cabinet to either challenge someone or allow others to challenge you.

  • Casual matches can be harsh, as the skill difference may be huge. Finding someone of relatively your level is a blessing and a great way to practice 2XKO in action.

Ranked matches

The game has a ranking system, and to reach high levels, you should head to this mode.

  • On one hand, the pressure is real, as losing here means a potential decrease in your rank. This aspect makes the 2XKO ranked game mode an intense experience.
  • On the other hand, the system has been created to let players with a similar level to have fair matches. Rank is just a practical matchmaking tool!

When Season 1 started, players could finally practice in the ranked lobby before beginning their ranked matches.

Private

You can create private lobbies for a more intimate experience. These lobbies are separate from the public arcade lobby, offering a smaller and more relaxed space.

You can either create a unique code for your match, or the game can automatically generate one when you start a private match. Share this code with your friends so they can join and you can practice together or battle it out.

Training

Training mode is perfect for players who want to improve. It lets you focus on specific skills, like practicing how to block after being hit and then following up with a combo. Simply repeating these sequences is beneficial, as it helps build the necessary muscle memory.

The 2XKO training mode offers a lot of flexibility the more you explore it. You can even set up random actions, like having the bot practice blocking high and low. Sometimes, practicing in training mode is more relaxing and enjoyable than jumping straight into a fight.

Tutorial

Tutorial mode in 2XKO isn’t quite like Training. Instead of choosing your characters and arena, the game immediately throws you into a match and guides you with on-screen tips.

So, to progress, you actually have to do each thing the game asks you to – you can’t just skip it! Honestly, I think that’s really smart, because it forces you to get comfortable with all the controls, whether you’re using a keyboard and mouse or a controller. It’s helpful if you switch between them too, because you’ve already practiced everything!

What modes are missing in 2XKO?

Honestly, the biggest problem I see with 2XKO is that it really needs a proper single-player campaign. I was watching an interview with Diaphone – he’s a pro player and makes awesome content – and he totally nailed it when he said that’s what the game is missing.

Story mode, arcade battles, and different missions are perfect for new and casual players. Including these features would make the game much more accessible to everyone.

Riot Games plans to continually support 2XKO by adding more champions and expanding the variety of game modes available.
