Alix Earle addresses scrutiny for Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime show appearance after hanging out with Trumps

Alix Earle responded to a TikTok user who claimed her appearance during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show wasn’t earned. This came after some people also noted her previous connections to Donald Trump.

During Bad Bunny’s performance of “La Casita” at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday, the 25-year-old influencer was right in the middle of everything.

The New Jersey resident was spotted socializing with celebrities like Cardi B, Pedro Pascal, Young Miko, Karol G, and Jessica Alba.

Someone commented on TikTok, criticizing Earle – who has recently been rumored to be dating NFL star Tom Brady – and claiming she shouldn’t be featured on a program highlighting cultural diversity.

The commenter expressed disappointment that the person hadn’t used their influence to support Bad Bunny’s message, calling it both surprising and unfair.

Earle shared their excitement, saying they were filled with joy and felt incredibly honored to be included.

Earle posted photos and videos from the Seahawks game on her TikTok, showing Seattle defeating Tom Brady’s old team, the Patriots, 29-13.

I recently spotted something really meaningful on social media from Earle – a photo of a billboard Bad Bunny had displayed during his tour. It simply said, ‘The Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate is Love,’ and honestly, it just resonated with me. It’s such a beautiful and important message, and I loved seeing it shared so widely.

Earle described the performance as truly special and powerful, adding that it was an honor to witness it.

Earle continued on Instagram, describing Bad Bunny’s performance as filled with love and joy, and saying that seeing it live was an incredible, almost unbelievable experience.

It’s wonderful to see so many people from different places joining together to celebrate life, family, love, culture, and a sense of togetherness.

Alix Earle publicly praised Bad Bunny’s message on Monday, but her own political views came under examination online, specifically in a discussion on the r/Fauxmoi subreddit about her past support for Donald Trump.

The discussion included comments about Earle’s connection to President Donald Trump, stemming from a photo taken with his daughter, Ivanka, in December 2023.

Earle in 2022 directly addressed her politics – and how her upbringing played into it – via TikTok.

She grew up in a deeply Republican area – her family, her town, and even her high school were all overwhelmingly Republican. Because of this, she admitted she hadn’t been exposed to other viewpoints and had always simply accepted her parents’ beliefs.

Earle said that the presence of a flag promoting Trump on one of her clips wasn’t relevant.

She admitted she initially supported Trump, saying, “I was all for him back then.” But she quickly added, “Looking back, I didn’t really know anything about politics at all.”

She added at the time, ‘I think that Trump is an idiot.’

Some people suggested the influencer seemed more interested in personal publicity than in actually supporting the message of cultural diversity Bad Bunny was trying to share with his segment.

A commenter expressed strong disapproval, calling it ‘disgusting’ that some influencers attended the Super Bowl and publicly highlighted Bad Bunny as content, seemingly contradicting their support for Donald Trump.

Another noted Earle’s politics in citing a reality TV show deal she inked last month with Netflix.

Someone commented that Netflix offered a reality show to her and her family, even though her stepmother is a very outspoken supporter of Donald Trump. They said they don’t intend to watch it.

‘The most I will interact with that show is to downvote it when Netflix suggests it to me.’

One person commented that they hoped Earle had genuinely changed her opinion, but suspected she was simply taking advantage of the situation, recognizing that supporting Trump would be bad for her business.

One viewer commented that their immediate thought while watching the Halftime show was, “She’s a Trump voter. She voted for him.”

Earle documented her day by taking selfies, including some from the Raising Cane’s suite and with celebrities like Emma Roberts.
