Alison Hammond’s personal trainer reveals the secrets to her 11st weight loss in video of her five year journey as This Morning star gushes ‘you have made my life so much easier’

Alison Hammond’s trainer recently shared how she lost over 11 stone, in a video posted to Instagram on Sunday.

The 50-year-old host of This Morning shared her amazing five-year fitness journey, giving fans a look at her weight training routine.

The video shows highlights from Alison’s fitness progress, including a clip shared by her trainer, Ellis Gatfield, of her doing sit-ups with resistance bands while using a chair for support.

Next, the scene shows Alison and her physical therapist riding a stationary bike with added weight as they cycle through their neighborhood.

Alison shared the video and expressed her gratitude to Ellis, writing, “Thank you so much to the amazing @ellisgatfield, who helped me begin my fitness journey!”

I’ll always remember how much effort you put into helping me, and how patient and kind you were when I was having a hard time. Your simple acts of kindness and support have made a huge difference in my life, and I’m incredibly grateful.

I’ll always appreciate you treating me as an equal. It means a lot that you still reach out, challenge me, and help me stay on track.

Alison has lost a significant amount of weight – 11 stone – over the last five years. She was motivated to make a change after learning she was pre-diabetic, and she’s successfully reversed the condition through better eating habits and exercise.

She recently told Daily Mail how she maintains her figure despite being surrounded by tempting treats on The Great British Bake Off.

I sneak a taste of the cakes Paul and Prue have judged, but only the really good ones! I only try the bakes that Paul gave a handshake to, or the ones that actually won. If the judges don’t like it, I don’t bother.

Alison shared how she lost weight without using weight-loss injections, explaining her workout routine with her trainer.

The TV star, who once weighed 28 stone, recently told Heat magazine that she’s working with a fantastic personal trainer who fits workouts around her schedule.

‘If I’m working, I don’t train, I’ll go for a walk.

When I’m home, I usually spend about an hour each morning working with her, potentially up to four days a week.

Okay, so she finally talked about what she eats! And honestly, it’s brilliant. She didn’t say she restricts anything, which is amazing, she just… eats everything in moderation! Like, she’s not depriving herself, she just doesn’t go overboard. I need to try this, it sounds so much healthier and sustainable than all those crazy diets out there. I’m already inspired!

‘I don’t deny myself anything, I eat everything, but in moderation,’ she added.

Alison had previously said she wasn’t interested in weight loss injections, choosing not to use them because she was worried about negative stories she’d heard.

She shared with Good Housekeeping UK that while she believes accessibility aids are helpful for those who need them, she personally becomes anxious whenever she hears negative reports about them.

The presenter explained they hadn’t used those options personally, but were open to them in the future and wouldn’t judge anyone who did.

I was so touched when Alison shared how much her mom, Maria, meant to her. Maria sadly passed away in January 2020 after a battle with lung and liver cancer, and it really motivated Alison to make some big, positive changes in her life. It’s beautiful to see how her mother’s memory continues to inspire her.

My mother had type 2 diabetes and was concerned about me developing it too. So, when I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, it was really scary.

‘I thought: ‘I have to be an adult about this’. The sweets had to stop – and the fatty foods.

I work with a personal trainer twice a week, and I also do some exercise at home with a few weights. I enjoy walking, stretching, and occasionally practicing yoga.
