Alison Hammond reveals why she wants to “take a year off” TV
Alison Hammond, who’s known from The Great British Bake Off, is quite clear about how she envisions the upcoming ten years of her life.
The TV personality expressed her desire to step away from the small screen at times, to embark on global travels instead.
She shared with Heat World that within the next ten years, she aims to traverse the globe. However, she emphasized that this journey won’t be happening immediately. “My dream is to take a year off and travel extensively,” she said. “Not right away, but someday. I long to see the world before my time runs out!
More recently, Alison demonstrated her ardent love for exploration during her BBC show “Florida Unpacked“. This program led her and her son Aidan on a journey to the radiant Florida.
I’ve always had a deep love for travel, as it’s been a part of me since childhood when I would accompany my mother on her tours. This fortunate circumstance allowed me to explore the wonders of Florida at an early age, as I shared in a recent press statement.
However, due to her hectic schedule, the star may need to make arrangements to travel by airplane and venture even more distant locations.
Apart from her work on “The Morning”, Alison also landed a new job last year. She replaced the late Paul O’Grady on “For the Love of Dogs”.
Or,
Last year, in addition to her role on “The Morning”, Alison secured another position by stepping into Paul O’Grady’s shoes on “For the Love of Dogs”.
Although she admitted that she had large footsteps to follow, she also tackled the comments directed at her for hosting the program, given that she doesn’t own a dog personally. She shared in an interview with The Sun’s TV Mag at the time that she was taken aback by the praise she received for doing the show.
It seems clear to me that Paul is adored so deeply, and the question arises: “How can she run ‘Love for Dogs’ if she doesn’t own a dog? How does she show love for dogs without having one herself?
She also noted that it was equivalent to saying, “How can you care for children without having any of your own?” In essence, she was urging those who were being critical or negative (the “trolls”) not to watch the show if they didn’t plan on supporting Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share that The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) and its companion show, Bake Off: An Extra Slice, grace the screens of Channel 4 in the UK. In the United States, this magical world of baking unfolds on Netflix under the name The Great British Baking Show.
