Alison Hammond responded after Prince Harry jokingly recreated a memorable moment she had on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ in a video shared on ‘The Late Show’ last night.
Prince Harry playfully reenacted a famous moment from the show, imitating how Stephen Colbert jokingly challenged a contestant, Mark Lutton, much like Jeremy Hammond did.
Prince Harry unexpectedly showed up on the show and participated in a funny lip sync segment where he playfully acted out a moment of Alison Hammond trying to follow what a person named Lutton was saying back in 2024.
During the New Year’s Day special, Hammond had a funny misunderstanding – he thought the other person was asking him to ‘beg,’ but they were actually saying ‘bake’.
The conversation between Stephen Colbert and Prince Harry, which Meghan Markle then posted online, caused a significant public response.
Hammond shared the post to her Instagram Story after reacting to the funny parody online.

Mark has also reacted Prince Harry’s antics on the chat show.
The baker, originally from Northern Ireland but now living in Liverpool, was surprised by how much attention his mispronunciation received. He said, ‘I never imagined a simple mistake in how I said something would cause such a reaction.’
He later went on to share the clip adding: ‘Breaking my Instagram silence to share this gem!’
This marks the Duke’s second time on the Stephen Colbert show. He first appeared in 2023 to discuss his memoir, which sparked a lot of conversation.
Beyond the awkward video, Harry also criticized Trump, mentioning the protests against him that used the slogan ‘No Kings.’ He then suggested that people in the United States are overly fascinated with royalty.
Last night’s conversation mostly revolved around the approaching Christmas holidays. Interestingly, the Prince participated in a comedic sketch with the host, who has publicly criticized the royal family, about the typical Hallmark Christmas movie.
The duke strolled through the studio, playfully pretending he’d gotten lost while looking for auditions for a silly movie called ‘Gingerbread Christmas Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska’.
It was such a magical moment during the performance! As Harry was playfully calling himself a ‘handsome prince,’ fake snow started drifting down, and it felt like Colbert genuinely got caught up in the fun and just had to play along with the bit. It was perfect!

Harry expressed his eagerness to be in a Christmas movie, playfully suggesting he has the skills – like horseback riding and helicopter piloting – to pull it off. He then mentioned his wife’s connections in the entertainment industry, hinting that could help him land a role.
Colbert later announced he’d been named the ‘official Late Show prince of Christmas,’ which the audience greeted with enthusiastic applause.
In addition to the humorous performance, several uncomfortable jokes were told. Many of these targeted the President and CBS’s recent $16 million (£13.5m) settlement of a legal case involving him.
Despite the cheerful scene, news emerged that Meghan Markle’s father is in intensive care in the Philippines after having emergency surgery, according to the Daily Mail.
Harry and Meghan haven’t spoken publicly about Thomas Markle’s health. They haven’t had a relationship with him since 2018.
Thomas Markle was hospitalized Tuesday after becoming seriously ill at his home. He had surgery lasting about three hours on Wednesday and is currently in the intensive care unit. Doctors are planning another procedure to remove a blood clot.
At 81 years old, he hasn’t had the chance to meet his son-in-law or either of his grandchildren, six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet, and has been dealing with health issues for some time.
Just before Harry and Meghan’s wedding, he had two heart attacks that prevented him from traveling to London from Los Angeles.
This meant King Charles ended up walking Meghan down the aisle at her wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. Mr. Markle later told The Daily Mail he considered it a very kind and gracious gesture, and said he would always be grateful to the King.
In 2022, he suffered a stroke that took away his ability to speak for several months. Although speech therapy helped him recover some communication skills, he’s become much weaker overall.
