All major easter eggs spotted in Alien: Earth episodes 1 and 2
The opening titles
The opening scene begins with an electronic beep from the spaceship Nostromo, as featured in the 1979 film Alien. Titles gradually appear, mimicking the style of the original movie. The USCSS Maginot is a research vessel belonging to Weyland-Yutani Corporation. It boasts similar interior designs to the Nostromo, including its mess hall, cryo chamber, and bridge.
MU-TH-UR/MOTHER
Later on, Morrow gains privileged access to the MU-TH-UR AI, similar to Ash’s in the Alien movie. Before Marcie’s mind is transferred into Wendy’s synthetic body, she wonders if she will be able to dream, mirroring Newt’s question “Can I dream?” from the Aliens film.
Callback to Jonesy the cat
The Maginot vessel has a feline passenger, much like Ripley’s cat Jonesy from the Alien and Aliens films. Also hinted at is an incident involving a space station crash that could potentially lead to the building of the Gateway Station depicted in Aliens.
Ice Age and Peter Pan
Before the Maginot’s accident, Joe viewed Ice Age: Continental Drift, and later exclaimed, “Show compassion or brace for my wrath!” The transformation scene of Marcie incorporates scenes from Disney’s 1953 film Peter Pan, with her group named after the Lost Boys, and her character specifically referencing Wendy Darling.
Rifles from the past
Search and rescue squads are armed with weapons that resemble the M41A Pulse Rifles from the movie Alien, featuring ammo counters but without grenade launchers. Additionally, these weapons might include a M56 Smartgun-like design. Preserved Facehuggers in jars evoke memories of the Aliens scene at Hadley’s Hope.
Mr. October
In Episode 2, the title pays homage to Reggie Jackson’s famous nickname given during the 1977 World Series. The incident number 1562 signifies an alien encounter, and Slightly expresses that hybrids find the term “artificial” distasteful, much like Bishop in Aliens did with the term “synthetic.
The blue mist
Romulus. The Xenomorph creature attacks Joe after he disrupts or disturbs this specific bluish coating on the eggs.
The Lost Boys
The team members at Wendy’s, namely Slightly, Curly, Smee, Tootles, and Nibs, share their names with characters from Peter Pan, maintaining the show’s connection to Neverland as its central theme.
