Alice Cooper dedicates Cardiff show to ‘legend’ Ozzy Osbourne as he shares emotional tribute to one of rock n roll’s ‘giants’ after his death aged 76

At a concert in Cardiff, Alice Cooper paid homage to Ozzy Osbourne, whom he called a “legend,” by dedicating the performance and expressing a heartfelt tribute to one of rock and roll’s colossal figures.

On Tuesday morning at the age of 76, it was confirmed that night by his family that the musician from Black Sabbath had died, enveloped in love.

On Tuesday night, rock musician Alice Cooper, also recognized as Vincent Damon Furnier, devoted his performance to Ozzy Osbourne when he appeared on stage with his group in Wales.

He stated on stage, “We understand that time eventually claims everyone, but it’s particularly tough to accept when powerful figures or institutions crumble.

‘Even though everybody saw it coming with Ozzy, it just took our breath away when it happened.

Ozzy and his family, as well as their musical contributions, iconic status, and the humor they added to the rock industry, will continue to be remembered eternally. We deeply mourn your passing.

In my perspective as a lifestyle connoisseur, I can’t help but feel the collective sorrow sweeping across the globe tonight, as we bid farewell to Ozzy, a true legend and a cultural titan. Over the course of his extraordinary career, he amassed an immense respect from his peers and adoring fans worldwide, not just for his unparalleled stage presence, but also for his significant impact on our cultural landscape.

I’ve often viewed Ozzy as a blend of the Prince of Darkness, a persona his fans recognized, and a jester at court. This was the aspect that his family and friends were familiar with.

* He’s undeniably a timeless icon of rock ‘n’ roll, and he’ll keep on embodying that spirit. Rock ‘n’ roll isn’t just music – it’s a community, a fellowship. When one of our own departs, it hurts deeply. I can’t help but feel sad about not knowing my brother Ozzy more intimately.

* He’ll always be a legendary figure in the realm of rock ‘n’ roll, and his influence will persist. Rock ‘n’ roll isn’t merely music – it’s a bond, a brotherhood. When one of our own passes away, it leaves a void. I regret that I didn’t get to know my brother Ozzy more personally.

* He’ll forever be hailed as an iconic rock ‘n’ roll figure, and his impact will endure. Rock ‘n’ roll isn’t simply music – it’s a family, a fraternity. When we lose one of our own, the pain is palpable. I can’t help but feel remorseful about not knowing my brother Ozzy better.

* He’ll always be synonymous with rock ‘n’ roll greatness, and his influence will remain. Rock ‘n’ roll isn’t only music – it’s a bond, an association. When we lose one of our own, the loss is profound. I can’t help but feel regretful about not knowing my brother Ozzy more deeply.

* He’ll eternally be recognized as a rock ‘n’ roll titan, and his influence will persist. Rock ‘n’ roll isn’t just tunes – it’s a family, a group of peers. When one of our own perishes, the pain is raw. I can’t help but feel wistful about not knowing my brother Ozzy more intimately.

To Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and the entire Ozzy family, we send our heartfelt sympathies this evening. Though a massive rock has fallen, resilience is their strength.

Alice closed her Instagram post by writing: “Take it easy, Ozzy. We’ll meet again someday – that’s Alice, Sheryl, Chuck, Ryan, Tommy, Nita, Glen, and the whole team saying goodbye.

In addition to the performance at Nissan Stadium, Nashville, on Tuesday, Chris Martin additionally dedicated the Coldplay concert to Ozzy elsewhere as well.

We’re choosing to devote the entire performance in honor of the extraordinary, multi-talented individual and global treasure, Ozzy Osbourne. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this time.

After that, Chris performed a simplified rendition of Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’, which was released in 1972. Following this, he expressed, “Ozzy, we adore you, no matter where you end up.”

On a Wednesday morning, keyboardist Rick Wakeman discussed his friendship with Ozzy on Radio 4, and confessed that he believed Ozzy might not have endured as long without Sharon by his side.

As a devoted fan, I recall meeting the legendary rocker, Ozzy, and his wife Sharon in 1980. It was at one of his initial solo concerts in upstate New York that I had the pleasure of their company. At that time, many believed Sharon was merely managing her father’s interests, but she was more than just a representative – she was a loving companion to Ozzy too.

Ozzy told me, “Things are about to shift. Sharon and I are together permanently, and she will handle my management from now on.” I responded, “Has her father been informed? He has a powerful image,” to which Ozzy replied, “Not yet.” I then said, “I don’t want to be present when he finds out.

‘Although Ozzy and Sharon often disagreed, her generosity towards him was significant. To put it simply, Sharon played a crucial role in keeping Ozzy alive. Given what she accomplished, I believe she has much to be proud of.’

‘It turns out Ozzy is more musically talented than many people realize. During our collaboration on the Osmosis album in New York, I discovered that he’s not just a heavy metal front man; he has a wealth of musical skills beneath the surface. He was decisive about his vision, resourceful, and even savvy enough to create a caricature of himself for the media.’

In simpler terms, the Osbourne family shared the heartbreaking news that their cherished member, Ozzy Osbourne, had sadly passed away this morning.

‘He was enjoying time with his loved ones, enveloped in affection. At present, we kindly request that everyone honors our family’s privacy. They are Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.’

A multitude of tributes poured in last night, with renowned musician Sir Elton John expressing that Ozzy is an influential pioneer who has earned a spot among the deities of rock.

He shared on Instagram: “I’m deeply saddened by the news of Ozzy Osbourne’s demise. He was not just a friend, but an extraordinary pioneer who carved out an unforgettable niche among the divine beings of rock – a genuine legend.

Apart from being incredibly hilarious, he was among the most memorable individuals I’ve come across. His absence will be deeply felt. My heartfelt condolences and affection to Sharon and the entire family. Elton xx.

Following our performance together at Villa Park, Birmingham, Ronnie Wood expressed deep sorrow upon hearing about Ozzy’s passing.

On X, The Rolling Stone expressed deep sorrow upon hearing about Ozzy Osbourne’s demise. It was truly heartwarming to see his farewell performance at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham.

Ozzy’s Black Sabbath bandmates declared ‘Ozzy forever!’ in a powerful tribute to the icon on X.

45-year-old American actor Jason Momoa, who recently shared a stage with the Black Sabbath lead singer at Villa Park in Birmingham, likewise expressed his respects.

In a heartfelt post, Jason uploaded a picture on Instagram showing him with Sharon and Ozzy during the concert’s backstage moments, addressing it as a tribute to his loved ones.

He wrote: ‘Love you @ozzyosbourne All my aloha @sharonosbourne and ohana. So grateful. RIP’.

This month, the musician said an emotional goodbye to his audience on stage, as he joined forces once more with his original Black Sabbath bandmates, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, for the first time since 2005.

In his closing remarks, Osbourne expressed that he couldn’t explain his feelings, but wanted to deeply thank everyone from the bottom of his heart.

42,000 enthusiasts filled Birmingham’s Villa Park, marking the comeback of heavy metal legends Black Sabbath for Ozzy’s final concert – their first live appearance since 2005.
