I was really hoping this new character, Alex, would shake things up in the game, and wow, he totally does! The first trailer showed he’s not just a tweak to what we already have – he’s got a completely different personality and some seriously cool-looking moves. I’m super excited!
It’s been some time since C. Viper was added to the game, and there haven’t been many updates since then. Fans were eager for news, and the short preview of Alex in Street Fighter 6 definitely delivered!
The character feels revitalized in this new game. There’s a noticeable change in personality – it’s almost as if Alex learned a few things from Armor King’s presentation in TEKKEN 8!
SF6 Alex: Teaser trailer
The video opens with a shocking act of aggression. Alex is facing off against Andore, and instead of shaking his opponent’s hand, he unexpectedly kicks him in the face. This is a blatant display of disrespect, establishing Alex as the villain in the situation.
Alex’s current appearance and behavior strongly differentiate him from how he was portrayed in Street Fighter V and Street Fighter III.
When he entered the online competition, he was presented as a ruthless villain with no friends. The audience booed this change in character, but Alex ignored them. He immediately began performing impressive attacks, even choking his opponent, Andore.
Hybrid grappler: Moveset hints in the trailer
It’s still too soon to detail Alex’s moves in Street Fighter 6, but the recent trailer gives us some good clues about what to expect.
When Andore tried to sneak up on him, Alex leaped into action, delivering a powerful stomp followed by a headbutt. He then unleashed a kick and finished with his signature Power Bomb, a devastating grab that appeared to inflict significant damage.
To finish the fight, Alex attempted a move that resembled a chokehold seen in the video game Street Fighter III.
Content creator rooflemonger did an amazing job with this trailer for Street Fighter 6‘s Alex. You can watch it below!
Alex is expected to become playable in Street Fighter 6 in early spring 2026. He’s included in the Year 3 Character Pass, which already features Sagat and C. Viper, and will also add Ingrid later in the spring.
