Alex Scott has left the show ‘I’m A Celebrity‘ to return home and support her partner, Jess Glynne, whose mother is undergoing brain surgery.
The 41-year-old TV personality was the first contestant eliminated from the show on Friday night. When she didn’t see the 36-year-old singer waiting for her on the bridge, she immediately knew something was wrong with her mother, Alexandra.
The rules state that celebrities need to remain in Australia until only one contestant remains, but Alex has left to be with Jess.
Alex explained that the past few months had been difficult, but Jess encouraged him to participate in the show as a tribute to her mother.
‘It’s been tough because I want to be here for the wrap party and I have to get home straight away.
Jessica is my priority, and I’m excited to return to her and be her source of strength. I’m incredibly grateful for all the support I received from everyone at ITV and my fellow campmates – they were amazing.

She shared that she nearly missed her trip to the Australian Outback because her dog, Alexandra, had a severe stroke and required brain surgery.
Alex, 41, shared a heartfelt story with the Daily Mail, explaining that singer Jess encouraged her to appear on the ITV show, even after receiving upsetting family news. However, she spent her time on the show worried that if her partner wasn’t waiting for her at the iconic jungle bridge, her mother’s health might deteriorate.
After leaving the show on Friday, Alex explained that it had been a difficult period, especially for the contestant’s family, and that deciding to participate in the jungle-based show wasn’t easy.
Jess actually didn’t want me to stop helping. I always worried she might not be okay, especially if her mother’s health hadn’t improved or if things had continued to decline – and recently, they have been getting worse.
Turning down that opportunity was a tough call for me, but Jess really encouraged me to take this chance instead.
The couple had privately dealt with a family hardship while the presenter was competing on the reality show. However, after she was the first contestant eliminated on Friday night, and people noticed her friends and family weren’t there to support her as usual, the singer finally spoke out about what was happening.
She shared a personal update on Instagram, explaining that her mother recently had a serious stroke and required immediate surgery.
My family has been going through a difficult and transformative period, so I’ve been focusing on being there for them. Alex always prioritized being where she was needed, and I miss having her support. I’m looking forward to when she’s back with me.
Even though they weren’t present, Jess, 36, and Alex reacted right after the interview with Ant and Dec, which was given by the previous host of Football Focus.

During their phone call, Jess explained to Alex that she was worried about getting enough screen time and criticized the show for not portraying her personality well.
Jess shared on Instagram that she’s incredibly proud of her partner, even though their time on the show ended sooner than expected.
‘She didn’t get the airtime to show how incredible she really is.’
Alex shared that the show’s editors altered her scenes because she felt she came across as uninteresting. She admitted this in a very honest moment.
